Well, one of us might as well do this.
Hello everyone, my name is Katharine Ali, but you can call me Kat.
I work at BBC Cymru Wales
Television Producer ·
Grade: 9P
Producer, BBC Two Single Drama
Doctor Who: An Adventure in Time and Space
That's my official job title, though most people call me "WHAT NOW?!" We are not very popular. We cramp the style of the creative people. They don't like rules...
I'm the goofiest girl you'll meet. Sense of humor and the ability to laugh at the little things are absolutely key.
I'm a dog person. That doesn't mean force me to befriend your 3lb chihuahua...if I wanted to cuddle something so small I'd be a crazy cat lady.
I live my life based on the stories I want to tell. I've found that some things are more exciting when they don't go perfectly. I don't panic when things go wrong...in fact, sometimes I prefer it.
I love to argue. Whether its sports, philosophy, science, religion, you name it...let's talk.
I enjoy witty banter and appreciate sarcasm at its best. I try to keep my "blonde moments" to a minimum, though I do have to admit they sometimes creep up on me. I can pretty much talk to anyone for any amount of time and I'm comfortable in most social situations. Sometimes my outgoing personality is confused for an aggressive personality.
I have an intense weakness for smart guys who can double as potential debate partners). I hate when people ask what I do for fun because I've tried to make my life a reflection of all the things I think are fun. I have a great job, incredible friends, the coolest dog, and an amazing family. I'm an advanced fencer and I play competitive dodgeball. I love it. I love baking and cooking- I'm no top chef, but I love trying new recipes.
Oh, and if you haven't noticed I'm also a fan of the Oxford comma, don't hate.
I'm an extremist. I'd prefer to either lay in bed all day and do absolutely nothing or venture outdoors and climb a mountain (or two).
I can quote Step Brothers like nobody's business.
I just finished a four month backpacking excursion through South East Asia that completely changed my life.
I'm a go-getter who is always looking for the next big thing to propel me forward.
I'm really great at taking things a moment at a time. Those who know me know that I am disinterested in living a life full of plans and organization. I love not knowing where I will be tomorrow or who I will meet, and I am keen toward people who enjoy the same philosophy.
I love to make everyone feel comfortable at all times. Whether I've known you for years or I am meeting you for the first time. I am a conversationalist and enjoy those who can keep up with various topics.
As for movies- it needs to either make me laugh until I cry or absolutely terrify me. As long as it makes me feel something extreme and excites me, I am happy.
But something quite important: I am an extreme Lord of the Rings enthusiast. The books, the movies, everything. It's a true love. Why oh why can't I live in Rivendell?
I spend a lot of time thinking about travel. I have always had one eye on my life here and one eye on what is outside of these borders. I want to experience things that are out of my comfort zone and live my life to its fullest capacity.
Other than that, I spend a great deal of time attempting to better myself. I am a work in progress- I believe that everyone is. If I'm not entirely happy with something, I'm working on fixing it. If I know it can be better, I'm changing it. I don't want to be one of those people who wakes up years from now and wonders how I became so dissatisfied. I like to smile too much for that.
If there's anything else you'd like to know, feel free to ask
