Anna was roaming the woods singing softly to herself. That damn witch made her lose half her blood bags so next to yanking someone out of the Grill for lunch, the woods was her best bet. But she was bored. This wasn't near as fun without someone to play with and she hated the taste of animals, anyways. Needless to say, she was lacking motivation. At least with the bloodbags, she could just lounge around and find other ways to entertain herself. This took too much time and effort. It was disgusting. She spent nearly a century being a heartless murderer and although that was a while back, she did party a bit too much while in her home country. There was probably a blood trail halfway through France but unlikely they'd follow it back to this town. Anna stopped, hearing the crack of branches and smelling the unmistakable scent of blood. With supernatural speed and grace, she ended up half a mile further into the woods and grinned, seeing the vampire responsible. She leaned against the tree soundlessly. Poor bunny. Didn't even see it coming. She quipped teasingly. She always found it funny that Stefan was the Salvatore to become the vegeterian. After all, she had known the brothers as humans, and had a short run in with Stefan during his Ripper stage. She never would have believed it. Whoever changed him must be a miracle worker. She thought to herself. NOTES || OUTFIT || here.[/tt]

Stefan quietly stalked through the forest, letting his senses take over. He needed sustenace and he knew every hiding place of the animals here. However, this time of day wasn't the best for hunting as only smaller animals were about. But he would have to deal with that. It wasn't like he actually liked the taste of animal blood. He didn't. In fact, he found it downright disgusting. Damon was right: vampires were supposed to eat humans. But if it kept him from losing control, he'd choke the stuff down. Even though he and Damon fought about how to feed, he actually agreed with his brother. His way of feeding wasn't natural. But what else could he do? He had been a monster in eighteen sixty-four and he he wasn't sure what he had done in the twenties, though he instinctively knew that it hadn't been good.
Suddenly, he became aware of a small rustling and using his vampire speed, he was at the location in an instant. He grabbed the rabbit by the scruff of the neck and deftly twisted the neck before he sank his teeth into the throat and began drinking. Gross, gross, gross! he thought to himself. Man, he hated having to choke this stuff down. But it was better than losing control. He didn't ever want to be as confused as he had been before Lexi had found him again in the twenties. But that didn't matter. He chosen his path and he couldn't stray from it. He had to stick to his plan. He had to stick to the animal blood. It was the only way he could survive without becoming a monster.
When he had finally had his fill, he dropped the rabbit and then turned around at a new sound. Who could be here and would he have to come up with some kind of lie? Then, at the comment that the bunny hadn't had a chance, he turned to see a very familiar figure. "Hey, Anna," he greeted. "What are you doing out here? There's nothing here for you. I'm the only one of us has this diet," he stated.

She rolled her eyes at the sound of dismay in his voice. If he hated it so much, why did he do it? She had heard the rumors, of course, that he honestly, couldn't control it. She doubted that, though. There was no way it was impossible. He just didn't have the right motivation. Right? She crinkled her nose. You're right. That looks disgisting. She laughed lightly, walking to a nearby rock and sitting down. Unfortunately, your little witchy friend hates my guts and threatened to kill me if I touched one of the locals. She crossed her arms and pretended to pout. Not that she could really take me, but that messing with your head shit is really annoying. Then again, she made me lose half my blood bag stock, so if I end up killing someone, it's really all her fault. She said with a smirk. She was only kidding...kind of. Too bad she couldn't leave town for a snack. I mean, she could, but alone? With hunters on the look out? Not a smart idea at all. Not without back up at least and the only vampire that would probably be game was no where to be found. She shrugged the idea off. How do you do it? She eyed the bloody bunny with a look of repulsion. I tried it once when I turned my humanity back on, a failed attempt at getting rid of the guilt. It was awful. I couldn't keep it down. She had, in fact, considered turning her humanity back off just so she could feed again. NOTES || OUTFIT || here.[/tt]

Stefan's eyes flickered a bit as Anna commented that he was right about the rabbit looking disgusting. "It's not an easy way to live. I'm starving all the time, but it lowers the risk of me being hunted or me losing control," he answered as she sat on a large rock. Well, sort of lowered. He had to be careful about what animals he hunted and how often he hunted, Granted, he could have used some of the stash from home, but he had noticed that it was getting low after he had fed to heal himself from the effects of the Gilbert Device and it wasn't exactly the right season for hunting. If bigger animals were to suddenly disappear, there could be suspicions drawn towards him, which could lead straight to Damon and Vicki. And he wasn't about to let that happen. He then grimaced as she mentioned Bonnie's threat to her. "In a way, she's got a point. If local residents start dying or appear to be getting significantly weaker, it would raise suspicions," he stated. To be honest, he wasn't sure how much of her hatred of them came from the fact that Sheila had died saving him and Damon or that she was jealous of Anna's relationship with Jeremy. After all, she wasn't like this with Vicki. At least, he didn't think she was. Though he was trying to help Vicki get onto the animal diet, he wasn't exactly working with the girl twenty-four/seven. Then his eyes clouded as she mentioned that it wasn't as if the young witch could actually take her, though her way of messing with one's head got annoying, adding that Bonnie had caused her to lose half of her of blood bags so if she ended up killing someone, it would be her fault. "The headache from the aneuryism? She's never done it to me, but from what I've seen when she's done it to Damon and our encounter with the Gilbert Device, I get what you mean. Had to take down two deers after that," he sympathized. Which was part of the reason that he had to be careful. Not only had he caused the suspicious deaths of two large animals, but it had taken him all of his willpower to not launch an attack on the Founding Families. Yeah, I can just imagine how that would fallen apart on me, he thought derisively. He got hurt so he wanted to act like a spoiled brat and take retaliation. Lovely. But at least he hadn't done what he desired, not that he had talked himself out of it, but his head had still been pounding too much and he knew that he wasn't at full strength anyways so any attack he might have launched would've been stupid on his part.
Stefan then mentally pushed these thoughts away as Anna asked him how he managed to feed, saying that she had tried it once after letting her humanity in to assauge her guilt, but that it had tasted awful and she couldn't hold it down. "Yeah, it took me a week before I could successfully choke it down," he told her. It had been Lexi who had gotten him on the animal blood and he had honestly wanted to kill her the first time he had fed from something that wasn't human. "Animal blood---it's what I imagine hot garbage would taste like. But it's better than me blacking out for an entire decade," he responded, his eyes clouding. And that was certainly the truth. With everything that had just happened, the last thing they needed was him going on a binge like he had done when he first turned and shortly after nineteen-twelve. If that ever happened again, he wasn't sure if he could be saved...

Anna tilted her head slightly, thinking about what he was saying. He was right, taking down the locals was risky. Not only would Bonnie find out but it would definitely attract the counsils attention. Wouldn't the random dead animals drained of blood kind of raise red flags, too, though? Anna could only really see one way to fix their problem. It was simple, really. Go somewhere without a counsil or a stupid high-and-mighty witch that was watching their every move. They didn't have to kill. Just...have some fun. They have the power of compulsion, why not put it to use? They could be back by dinner time. No one would know. She looked carefully at Stefan. You really can't control it, can you? She asked softly. Who had ever really tried to help him? Damon, maybe. She knew the stories about the blonde that snapped him out of his psycho killer stage. But was that really it? Of course he had a problem! No one had ever really taught him how to control anything. Katherine left them high and dry after turning him, that bitch, and Damon had some of the best control she'd ever seen but she couldn't really figure out how. He probably didn't know either. Stefan needed someone to teach him control, not haul him off in the middle of the woods to kill Bambi. Would he even consider it with the risk? Losing himself could lose him everything...but making it through this could make his life so much better. Anna hated to admit she cared about anyone, but she was growing pretty fond of the Salvatore brothers. They had helped her, saved her. She wanted to repay them somehow. Stefan didn't really know what to say after his revelation. It wasn't like he had meant to say all of that. But he supposed he just needed someone to listen. Heaven knew Damon wouldn't. He would've just pounced on his statement of not liking animal blood and then tried to convince him to go straight for the vein. But he couldn't do that. He had tried that in nineteen-twelve and they both knew how that had played out. But Anna seemed to be really listening to him. Maybe that was just what he needed. There was a beat of silence and Stefan went over to the rabbit he had killed, dug a small grave and then placed the animal inside the hole, before covering it up. This had been done in a matter of seconds and he had made sure that there wasn't a trace of blood anywhere. Unlike certain brothers who would remain nameless, he actually cared about being discovered. Though he supposed that wasn't fair anymore. Damon knew that they couldn't risk exposure after what had happened and would most likely do what he could to keep those he cared about safe.
Stefan hadn't even realized that his thoughts had wandered until he heard Anna's voice as she realized that he truly couldn't control himself. "Nope. Just one drop of human blood and it's bye-bye village. Don't remember much after Monterey. Became a blur---lot of blood, lot of partying..." his voice trailed off. It wasn't as if he hadn't tried to remember what had happened in the twenties---he had---but there hadn't really been much he could do to retrieve his memories. It wasn't even in any of his journals. Apparently, he hadn't been much for writing during that time. He let out an uneeded sigh as he sat down on the ground. "So go ahead, tell me how unnatural I'm being and that my choices make me weak. It's nothing Damon hasn't told me before," he stated somewhat bitterly. What? Did Damon think he didn't realize how big of a disadvantage he had? He knew how weak he was compared to other vampires, but what was he supposed to do? If he could drink human blood without going completely psycho, of course he would, but he couldn't, so what was the point of trying to do otherwise?
OOC Hey, it's fine! I love the idea of people trying to help Stefan get control. I had already plotted this with Damon so maybe he and Anna disagree about how to help him later on?

Anna felt for him, she really did. And with Damon being, well, Damon, it couldn't be easy living the lifestyle he was. Plus the way it tastes? Yuck! "Nope. Just one drop of human blood and it's bye-bye village. Don't remember much after Monterey. Became a blur---lot of blood, lot of partying..." Anna hesitated, mulling over what she was about to suggest. She knew she was being unusually quiet and he would catch on. Most of the time she was giggly and flirty and sarcastic. But she could tell he needed someone to listen, to take him seriously, like the blonde vampire used to. But he didn't need to be fixed. He just needed to learn. He needed to learn control. "So go ahead, tell me how unnatural I'm being and that my choices make me weak. It's nothing Damon hasn't told me before," Anna rolled here eyes. Dammit, Damon. She stood up, moving a bit towards him and leaned against a tree. You know what Damons problem is? She raised her eyebrows and watched him for a moment. Damon has control. Amazing control. But he doesn't know how he does it. There's no way. Even I'm not sure how he does it. It's like he can switch his humanity on and off so easily, just for one drink, or two, like it's no big deal. And his way of life doesn't work for you because I haven't seen any other vampire able to act like that. You know what your problem is? She crossed her arms. You've never actually been helped. Your brother doesn't know how and your sponsor gave you a bandaid for a bullet wound. Anna caught herself. She was getting angry. She pushed herself off a tree, took a breath, and again with supernatural speed pushed Stefan to the ground and held him there with one hand, effortlessly. She grinned wickedly. I'm stronger than your brother. Wanna give it another try? No one had to know. They could take a day trip, or a weekend trip. Hell, make something up. Anna knew she could get farther than Damon ever could. And if it didn't work out, she could take him. NOTES || YAY! OUTFIT || here.[/tt]

Anna was quiet, which was weird. She was never quiet. Oh, she had blended in well enough in eighteen-sixty-four, but even then there had been an air about her---which Stefan now knew came from being a vampire. He looked up at her, wondering what she was thinking. Would she verbally rip him apart for what he had just said, telling him to stop feeling sorry for himself? He really didn't know. When she asked him if he knew what Damon's problem was, he shrugged. "Other than being a jackass?" he quipped. Not that he would let anyone else get away with calling his brother that, but hey, key word here "Brother". He could diss Damon all he wanted. He just wouldn't let anyone else do it. Hearing that Damon had control, Stefan nodded. It was true. Damon did have a handle on his switch, though it was interesting to hear that not even Anna or Damon knew how he had garnered such restraint, though Stefan surmised that it was probably because he hadn't wanted to be a vampire in the first place. If he had spent time loathing what he was, his brother had probably figured out a trick in controlling himself much better than any other vampire. But from what Anna was saying, Damon's control and not knowing how he did it was why his lifestyle didn't work for Stefan. "I guess that would make sense," he muttered. It was just another way Damon was better than him.
Then she asked him if he knew what his problem was. "Yeah, I'm the only vampire in history who got so consumed by the bloodlust that he blacked out for an entire decade," he responded. Geez, this was just like when he had been in Mr. Shay's class when everyone had gone psycho. Where was this attitude even comng from? He then fell silent again as Anna told him that she had never been helped because Damon didn't know how and and that Lexi had just put a bandaid over a bullet wound. "She did more than that. She got me to turn my humanity back on in eighteen sixty-four and she helped me after I blacked out," he said somewhat defensively, his eyes flashing. Who was Anna to talk? She hadn't been the one who had been at his side, working with him to start caring again and to value human as being more than just blood bags. That had all been Lexi. Lexi. Gosh, he missed her...
Before Stefan even knew what was happening, Anna had lunged at him, and pinned him to the ground, saying that she was stronger than Damon and asking him if he wanted to give things another try. "I don't know, Anna. The last time I drank human blood was last year when I had a little bit of Elena's blood. I went crazy on just a few sips of her blood and before i knew it, I was terrorizing the town, stealing Damon's blood stash...they were all lucky I didn't go full-blown Ripper," he responded hesitantly. He wasn't going to lie, the idea was appealing, but he knew that his past actions on human blood had scared Elena and had worried Damon. He couldn't take the chance that he would lose it again...

Anna slowly released him, feeling though she had just proved her point. Stefan hadn't even tried to move. She raised her eyebrows at him and smiled, waiting for him to catch on. Dude, I'm stronger than you and anyone else who's helped you in the past. They may have helped you but did they ever really solve the problem? She asked, knowing the answer. Stefan knew the answer, too, but he was most likely terrified to try. Stefan, I don't blame you for being hesitant, but if you don't control this now, what happens if you get yourself in a situation where you can't stop yourself? What happens if you kill someone with this? What happens if Elena sees? She knew that was going to be, if anything, the tipping point. She mattered so much to him. She sat down on the ground next to where Stefan still lay. The point is last year when you lost it, no one was really prepared for what happened. I saw you in the 20's, Stefan. I was in the middle of a murdurous streak, too. She put her hand on his. I didn't spend enough time with you to be able to tell you anything helpful, but I did see you at your worst. Trust me. I realized when we saw eachother again you didn't remember and I wasn't sure how to tell you but I know what you're capable of. She looked at him and bit her lip nervously. She knew he didn't like what he had done back then. She remembered the night perfectly. She was spending time in New Orleans with a couple of other Vampires. She ran into him in an alleyway. He was tearing apart a young girl. She recognized him immedietely and he did the same. He was definitely high on bloodlust. There was no stopping him. Although, Anna couldn't have cared less. She joined him when he invited her without a second thought. They tore through three more unsuspecting people that night. Anna looked away from him and stared at her hands. It was hard for her to think about that time. She was so heartbroken after she thought her mother died, off went her humanity, it was that simple. In hindsight, she should have stayed and helped Stefan and Damon. She knew what Katherine had planned. But feeling was too dangerous. NOTES || OUTFIT || here.[/tt]

Anna released him, reminding him again that she was stronger than him and anyone else who had helped him before, adding that they may have helped him but then asked whether or not they had actually solved the problem. "If you mean, did Lexi ever try to get me back onto the human blood diet after a while, the answer is no. I was a Ripper. Me and human blood---it'd be like giving an alcoholic a small shot and saying that just one wouldn't hurt," he responded, sitting back up. Which was why he was hesitant about her suggestion. Get him on human blood? Why? Why would she want that? Did she want him to go psycho and have to be put down?
Stefan's eyes clouded as Anna stated that she didn't blame him for being hesitant about going back to human blood, but then asked him what would happen if he didn't get himself under control and found himself in a situation where he couldn't stop, or killed someone, or if even Elena saw? Even though he didn't need it, Stefan let out a breath and ran his fingers through his hair. Anna brought up some pretty good points. What would he do if any of that happened? "Honestly, I don't know," he answered. "You know, all I wanted was to stay here and be a normal guy. Go to school, get a diploma, meet a girl...and then this happens," he stated with some frustration. How come things couldn't just be simple for once in his life? Was that really too much to ask?
His eyes then flickered as the other vampire reminded him that last year no one had been prepared for him losing it, adding that she had seen him in the twenties and had been on her own murderous streak. At this revelation, Stefan looked at her in surprise even as she put her hand on his. She had seen him in the twenties? Did she know anything about what he had done. He was about to ask this when she revealed that she hadn't spent enough time with him to be able to tell him anything useful and he felt the hope that had risen die within him. Great. I thought she'd be able to tell me what exactly happened to me, he thought as she went on to say that she had realized that he didn't remember seeing her back then when they were talking and that she hadn't known how to tell him, though she knew what he was capable of. "So you have no idea how I got so consumed with the bloodlust that it caused me to black out?" he questioned. "So, why do you think it would be wise to get me back on human blood? If I blacked out once, it could happen again, and I really don't wanna come to just to find out that I've killed everybody here...including Elena," he continued. The more they talked about it, the more he realized that this would be a bad idea. He was a monster on human blood and he couldn't take the chance that he could possibly hurt someone he cared about it. He'd stake himself before allowing himself to become a danger to them.

Anna listened to him and she felt his frustration, she felt his pain and it broke her heart. Stefan, you're a vampire. You're not going to be normal and everything is always going to be complicated. And this problem, this bloodlust, is a huge disadvantage for you. Hell, just since I've been back you've had like 6 enemies show up and try to kill someone. One of these days, someones going to wanna hurt you, I'm gonna go ahead and bed someone you pissed off in the 20's, and they're gonna use your loved ones to do it. Stefan, this is dangerous. Anna was practically begging him. Did he have any clue how dangerous this really was. The way this town worked, someone could walk in tomorrow and force him to suck all the blood from his girlfriends body. She saw how she had actually crushed him with the news that she had seen him in the 20's. She could feel the disappointment radiating off of him. This hurt her. She didn't wanna make him feel worse, just prove a point. She sighed and took a beat, considering his words. She was standing up and five feet away in a split second. Come on. You wanna get "fixed," then come on. We won't stay here. We'll go somewhere else, to a big city where we'll go unnoticed. I know the perfect place. Text whoever cares and make something up cause you know they'll kill both of us if they find out and especially don't tell Damon. If we're not here, you won't kill Elena. And I won't let you kill anyone. I feed. I don't kill. I swear. Her eyes softened a little. Stefan, you and Damon just saved my life. Let me help you, please. Stefan's shoulders slumped as Anna reminded him that he was a vampire and that he was never going to normal. Well, that was certainly true, but did she have to be so blunt? But maybe bluntness was what he needed, especially since she had a point about the amount of enemies that had shown up trying to kill someone. "Yeah, I know," he said. And Elena had been put right in the middle of it because she looked like Katherine, which he hated. If he had his way, the girl never would've learned that she was related to his Sire in any way. But she had learned this and they had to deal with it...especially since Katherine had come back. When Anna went on saying that it was getting dangerous and she bet that it was someone she had known in the twenties, Stefan nodded. "Yeah, you're probably right. I just wish I knew who," he said with an unnecessary sigh. "Well, Elena's the only one I have to worry about. Well, and her family too of course. But Damon can take care of himself," he mused. Not that he wouldn't kill anyone who tried to hurt his brother, but he didn't have to worry about him being in danger.
At Anna's suggestion, Stefan's eyes clouded. What she was suggesting actually sounded like a good idea: go to a city where no one knew them, figure out how to control the bloodlust, allowing him to feed without going psycho. I'd love to be able to do that, but I don't know, he thought to himself. "I don't know. It's tempting, but...a part of me thinks that I shouldn't take the risk. But on the other hand, I'm sick of feeling this way. I'm sick of always being hungry, or having Damon take potshots at me because he's in better control! What, he thinks I like choking that crap down? No way!" he exclaimed. Okay, yeah, he was losing it. And Anna was right: he had to think about Elena. "Okay, let's do it. But you can't tell anyone. Not Damon, Vicki, Elena...no one," he emphasized. More than likely they'd accuse him of being hypocritical or worry that he would lose control and try to talk him out of it. Well, Elena would try to talk him out of it, Vicki and Damon would probably be all for this, but Vicki was rather knew at it, and Damon would the direct approach like in nineteen-twelve, which hadn't worked out very well. "And you have to promise me, if I get out of control, if it looks like I'm going Ripper, you take me down by any means necessary. Don't hesitate, because I don't want what happened in the twenties to happen again. I can't let it." If that happened, he literally didn't know what he'd do...

Anna sighed with relief as he gave in. She grinned and jumped up and down. Yay! Roadtrip! She walked over to him and offered a hand to help him up. We'll go to New York. You go pack and make up a good story. I'll get us a car and meet me at the Grill in an hour or two. I'm not telling anyone, are you crazy? Damon would rip my head off and I don't wanna deal with the newbie as a tag-a-long. She admitted. She was going against everyone in Mystic with this decision. They both knew it. But it was the only option they had. She was confident she could handle him, she'd never met a younger vamp she couldn't take down, and she knew Stefan. Like she said, she knew what he was capable of. She walked into this conversation knowing damn well what she was getting into and she wouldn't have offered had there been any doubt in her mind that she could do it. She looked into his eyes as he made her prose to put him down if it got out of hand. She would never do anything that would put her on Damons hitlist, but she would do what was necessary to control him. Honey, don't worry about that. You even think about killing one person and I'll snap your neck and put you in the celler myself. She swore. She might look half a decade younger than the boy, but she was a fireball when she needed to be. NOTES || YAY! lol OUTFIT || here.[/tt]

Stefan couldn't help the laugh that escaped when Anna expressed her excitement about a road trip. She was a vampire who was probably at least a decade older than him and she was jumping up and down like a human child. It was actually kind of cute, though he had enough sense not to tell her that as she would probably rip his head off if he did. "Yeah, I like road trips too," he agreed, grabbing her hand and then pulling himself up. They were fun and plus, you sometimes got a good bonding experience out of it. Not that he had been on many road trips with anyone other than Lexi, but still...
She then said that they'd go to New York and that he should go pack and think of a good story to tell people, saying that she'd meet him at the Grill and then added that she wasn't going to tell anyone as Damon would rip her head off and she didn't want Vicki to tag along. "Come on, Anna. Cut Vicki some slack. This is all still pretty new to her. And add to the fact that I'm the one responsible for her, she hasn't exactly had an easy time of it," Stefan defended. He wasn't sure if Anna hated Vicki for any other reason than the other girl was interested in Vicki, but no matter the reason, he wasn't going to let anyone badmouth her when she was just trying to make the best out of a bad situation which was made even more difficult in that she had an unpredictable time bomb for a mentor. It was like asking Hannibal Lector to watch after your kid.
He then looked at her as she assured him that he didn't have to worry as she would snap his neck and lock him in a cellar herself if he even thought about killing someone. Not quite the answer I was hoping for, but I guess it'll do, he thought to himself. He had been hoping she'd promise him what he was asking for, but he wasn't going to press it. "Okay, let's do this," he declared. If they were going to get him under control, they were better served leaving now before he chickened out and changed his mind. Besides, it had been a while since he had been in New York and he had to admit, he kinda missed it. It had been his kind of city. Okay, so a lot of people said that about Chicago, but honestly, Stefan didn't know anything about Chicago as he had never been...at least...he didn't think he had. He'd have to ask Anna about that. She may have not known a lot about his lifestyle in twenties, but maybe she could at least give him a location...

Of course Anna hated Vicki. Especially now that Stefan and Damon had taken her as their own personal pet project. She still had some bitterness towards the girl that Jeremy had wanted so badly to turn for. It hurt her a lot more than she wanted to admit.
What I mean to say is that we don't need a new vampire in New York City while we're trying to get you under control. I can't take care of both of you. She crossed her arms, staying somewhat reasonable to protect her cover. She wasn't sure what all Stefan knew about her tiff with Vicki and she wanted to keep it on a need to know basis. She smiled as he affirmed they were actually going through with her plan. She hadn't expected to get him on board this quickly, but it was most likely better this way. The less time Damon knew what was really going on, the better. If you can't come up with anything, tell them you're helping me with a problem I cooked up in France. She shrugged. Not many would question it, no one knew enough about her to. The only one that might would be Damon, and she could handle him herself. NOTES || It's short, but I really just wanted to end this thread Wanna start a new one in The Rest of the World?
