-Elena is warm and selfless. Like stated earlier, she puts everyone else before herself. She can't stand to see the people she loves hurting. She would replace herself with them anyway if it comes down to it. She loves with all that she has. Before her parents accident Elena was popular, funny, charming, outgoing and FUN. Now, she's still many of those things, but a lesser version of her old self. She has lost a huge part of herself that made her, her. She is still very outgoing and she likes to believe she is still fun, although her best friend Caroline begs to differ. She quit cheerleading once her parents died and that was a huge part of her. Elena is extremely trustworthy. If she says she is going to do something, she sticks to her word and does not alter. She is very honest. She won't lie to you. She hates lying and dislikes people who do lie. She finds it extremely poor character. Elena is also really reliable. She likes to feel that her friends can trust her with anything. Elena hates for her friends to be mad at her, and hates feeling like anyone is ever mad at her. If she feels this way she feels like fixing it immediately and find out why and how she can fix it. Elena is good at school. She is dedicated and determined. She has goals for herself and they are very punctual. She sees herself going far in life and is very detrained to get there. She's looking forward to college and can't wait to see where life takes her. She has a dark side though that came with the death of her parents. That's something she will probably never get over and no one should expect her to. Ms. Gilbert is very mature for her age. She felt like she had to grow up fast after her parent's death. She takes good care of her brother Jeremy and cares a lot for him. She's also very independent in ways. She likes her time to herself to write in her journal. She takes full advantage of the time she gets to herself to just sit back and thin. She likes to review her life as of yet and think about the places she'll go, will Stefan be with her? What's going to happen with them? history: -Lets start from the beginning shall we? Elena's parents meant everything to her. She was extremely close to them. She could always count on them for anything. Which is why when she got stranded at a party she went to after skipping family night, she called them and no one else. They came and got her and she's the reason the car went off of Wickery Bridge. She blamed herself for the longest time and honestly, still does. She has grown as a person because of it after losing herself for awhile. She was lost for the longest time until she met someone. She met the infamous Stefan Salvatore. He helped her find herself again and she fell in love with him. When she found out he was a vampire she was scared, to say the least. But he showed her that she didn't need to be afraid of him. He introduced her to a whole other world beyond what she's ever known. She met Damon soon after meeting Stefan and they were nothing alike. Polar opposites actually. Stefan didn't kill people for starters. At least the Stefan she knew. She found a way to care for Damon though, considering everything. She wanted to befriend him and she did. With that, came a close friendship. Elena cared deeply for both of the Salvatores and vise-versa. They would do anything for her as would she for them. They have saved her many times and she is forever grateful. They showed her not to be afraid and to take risks. Everything was looking up for Elena. things were good at home despite everything, things were good at school and things were great with Stefan. This was until she met Katherine. She met her twin. Elena didn't know how this was possible but then she found out she was a doppleganger. She was the doppleganger of the infamous Katherine Pierce. With this, came more risks. Elena heard that a thousand year old vampire by the name of "Klaus" was after her. He wanted to create hybrids, vampires that are also werewolves. These hybrids would be sired to Klaus meaning they would be forever loyal to him. What does this have to do with Elena? She is the key to breaking the moonstone curse. The witches needed nature's balance and put a curse on Klaus that made his werewolf side more dominant. Well for him to break that curse, he needed the blood of the Petrova Doppleganger...Elena. In order for the curse to be broken Elena had to die. Klaus has to drain her of all of her blood by feeding on her to make him equal. Elena made a deal with Elijah that he would keep her living. Elijah was supposed to hold up his end of the deal that was killing Klaus. But he didn't. Klaus said he had his family and didn't dump them into the ocean. Elijah being the noble man he is, lives for his family. Family means everything to him. Thus, he didn't rip Klaus' heart out when he had the chance. Elena is still living though and it is assumed that John made a deal for his life, to save his daughters.
Relationships- Jeremy-Elena see's Jeremy as her best friend even though he may not feel that way. She loves her brother very much and will protect him at all costs. He means everything to her. After their parents died he was getting into a lot of trouble and she felt like the parent almost, like she had to take their position and discipline him even though she couldn't exactly ground him. But she could make his life at home hell which his what she tried for awhile after catching him smoking weed. He went off the rails just like she did but in different ways. He has started to shape up his act. After losing Vicki he was lost again for awhile but now Elena feels closer than ever with him and he's trying to work with Damon and Stefan to stop the curse and save Elena. Aunt Jenna- Aunt Jenna and Elena are really close. Aunt Jenna moved in to the Gilbert house after their parents died and became legal guardian. She's been trying really hard to take their parents place and get close to the hand connect and she's done a great job. Elena feels really close to her, except when she found out she was adopted. Elena felt betrayed and lied to. She couldn't believe Jenna would keep that from her. She had an even harder time telling Jeremy, thinking he wouldn't think of them as siblings anymore but that was far from the case. Jeremy surprised her and gave her a speech about how she will always be his sites. That brought them even closer Elena thought. John-Elena doesn't like John. Sure they've had some okay moments and some good times but Elena will never think of him as her dad. John is Elena's biological father. Damon found this out and Stefan told her. She couldn't believe it. She knows she shouldn't del this way but she wants him gone. Out of Mystic Falls and out of her life. Isobel- Isobel is the captain of monumental disappointments. She is Elena's biological mother. Elena also couldn't believe this and after meeting her, Elena wants absolutely nothing to do with her. All she did for Elena was keep the memories of her real mom, perfectly in tact. Matt- Matt is Elena's oldest friend. They shared a crib together and their mom's were best friends. Elena and matt dated in high school for a long time before her parents died. Everyone loves matt. After her parents died she ended things and said she just needed some time. But that time took longer than Elena expected and she found someone else during that time. She never wanted to hurt Matt and she's glad they still remain good friends to this day. She values this friendship a lot. Stefan Salvatore-Stefan swept Elena off her feet. He was the mysterious new guy in school and Caroline was trying her game with him so Elena backed off and let it be but after Stefan insisted it was Elena and he wasn't interested, she gained a lot of interest in him. Elena fell madly in love with him. Elena see's how much he cares about her and how much he loves her. He would do anything for her and she the same. She goes through great lengths to make sure he is safe and stays alive. Their love is strong and Elena feels can make it through anything. Stefan is set on saving Elena from klaus but Elena just wants everybody she loves to be safe. Caroline- Caroline is Elena's best friend. they were on the Cheer squad together. They've ben friends since middle school. Elena feels that she can share everything with her. She sometimes worries about Caroline keeping secrets well but she isn't too worried about it. She would only ever tell people that really should know the secret but Elena couldn't tell them. Elena confides in Caroline often and Caroline the same. Caroline and Elena are alike in many ways. Elena was upset when katherine turned Caroline into a vampire but Elena has found Caroline to be inspirational. She's very proud of the person she's become and glad she didn't turn into a ripper vampire. She loves Stefan for helping Caroline and not letting Damon kill her. Elena would be lost without Caroline. Bonnie- Bonnie hasn't always been Elena's friend but she has found a great friend in Bonnie lately, starting freshman year. That's when they started becoming close. Bonnie has done a lot to help damon and stefan save elena, eve risking her own life in many ways. Bonnie would die for Elena and vise-versa. Elena appreciates their friendship and loves Bonnie. She loves how close they've gotten and only hopes to grow closer. Elena is very clear about one thing though, she will never let anyone die for her. Including the Salvatore brothers, family or friends. on the night of December 5th, Rebekah was so intent on getting the cure and she knew the dopplegager had to die. So, she ran Elena and Matt's truck off the road. Elena made Stefan save Matt first and Elena drowned to death. She died with vampire blood in her system though. After being admitted to the hospital, Merideth Fell injected blood to help her, leaving Elena...now a VAMPIRE.

role play sample:Elena looked over at Damon and smiled. "I trust you Damon, I won't want to back out. But I also don't want you on edge the whole time. I know things have been weird between us lately but don't be stepping on egg shells around me, always cautious about what to say or do. Be yourself" She said smiling looking forward then looked back at him. "Wait, the yourself that I approve of" She said with a little giggle. She didn't need Damon killing a bunch of people while they were gone together. She'd have to help cover the tracks and that might put her on the run for the rest of her life. She wasn't fond of that idea. They pulled up to the Gilbert residence that used to be filled with such happiness and light hearts and laughter. Now to Elena, it was merely a reminder of memories, memories she would wish to forget but can't. They were too important. She walked up to the house and opened the door to see Jenna and Logan looking awfully close at dinner. They looked over at Elena and Jenna gave her the "go away" look. Elena couldn't help but laugh. Jenna was finding someone new, and that was good. She was finding happiness. Something Elena wanted but wanted it for her family more. Elena walked upstairs then opened Jeremy's door to find him lying in bed listening to music. She smiled and closed the door. She didn't want to tell him she was leaving with Damon. Damon wasn't Jeremy's biggest fan either...no one here actually were big fans of Damon but they didn't know him like she did. Elena grabbed her suitcase from the top of her closet and just started throwing in clothes, winter, summer, fall, spring..she didn't know where they were going but she knew that it was different seasons all around the world. She packed many bikinis, underwear, bras, shoes. Elena was bad when it came to packing, she over pack way too much. Every time. But she'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it, although she could just get Damon to buy her whatever she needed. She heard Damon walk in the room as she was finishing zipping up her second suitcase. "Don't judge, I'm a girl. I have needs, and I need cute clothes for every season" She said not apologizing for her pack rat self and shrugged. "You will have to use your super vampy strength or whatever though to carry these, cause I can't" she said smiling as a "thank you" in advance. She walked into the bathroom, packing all her toiletries and makeup. She came out and looked around her room. "okay, I think I'm ready!" She said clapping her hands together and jumping a little. "So where to first? You know I've always wanted to see paris. Alaric tells me so much about it in history and it looks sooo romantic" She said obviously in awe over Paris.
