She felt a bit awkward walking into the school, she hadn't been to school really in over six years. Sure the asylum had a library, so her reading and writing skills probably weren't too bad, but math? She was going to fail that fore sure. The school was small, she had she suspected, Mystic Falls wasn't exactly London, so she would have to get used to that. It was a bit overwhelming to be standing here, alone. Sure, she wouldn't be trouble for being alone, her papers said she was emancipated, but still, she still was alone. Her eyes fell to the floor, her father hadn't contacted her in months, and she was beginning to worry. Was he still alive? Was he the one who wrote the mysterious note? Probably not, she could recognize his handwritten letters right off the bat, but the lettering on the parchment was a lot fancier. Her father's was a messy scrawl, and it was amazing she could actually make it out.
The front office wasn't too hard to find, and after receiving her schedule from the lady behind the desk, she found herself in front of the bulletin board, staring at all the activities the school had to offer. It was very American, and she wasn't quite sure why football was one there and then soccer. Weren't they the same thing? Hm, she'd have to look into that later. She turned slightly, glancing at the clock, well she a good fifteen minutes till her first class, so she might as well find out where that is. Her eyes never left the ground as she scampered out of the office, she was very timid at the prospect of meeting people. She knew full well that since Mystic Falls was a small town, they probably rarely got students. That made her feel self-conscious, what if they didn't like her? Well, that wasn't exactly blending now was it? Hm, she'd have to find a way to at least reach out to someone, even if the thought terrified her more than meeting the mysterious person that sent her here.
Reyna's gaze flickered up momentarily as she scanned the room numbers, thankfully she wouldn't get lost here, that made her feel a little better. Every time she found the door to the classes she would attend here, she wrote little notes in the margins. Once she found her first class, she lingered outside in the hallway, she still had at least five minutes, so maybe she could try her locker? Her eyes flickered down the array of lockers, well this was going to be interesting. She never used one in middle school, so she wasn't totally sure what to expect from these ones. Did she need a key? She glanced at her schedule and headed to her locker, staring at quizzically. There was a hole for a key but they never gave her one, was it dial? "How am I supposed to?..." she muttered to herself, her eyes flickering towards it. If she couldn't open it...maybe she could just around her things? No, that probably wouldn't be the best idea, there would probably be a lot of coarse books and she didn't want to lug them around all day. Her eyes flickered cautiously towards the other students in the hall, maybe...maybe she could ask for help? That would be nice if she could but she found herself instead standing their awkward, probably looking like an idiot as she gawked at the crowd.
Now she'd done it, they probably assumed she was a freak now. And that she was, but she was hoping to hide for at least a little bit longer, why she had to flake out on even asking a simple question made her mad at herself. This would be the first time she had be critical of her own actions, in fact, since she hardly had any interaction in the institution, this would probably be the first she'd even found herself in a room of free people. Well people that didn't want shoot her up with sedatives and weren't deemed crazy by the county of Nottingham. Now that was a start, she just hoped she didn't mess it up too much. She did want to blend in and even make friends if they were readily available. Maybe at some point she would comfortable enough to even join in a group activity, one of the ones she saw on the bulletin board earlier. For now she just had to focus finding a way to open her locker. With a quick glance at her watch, she was relieved to see that she still had three minutes left. Her internal worrying didn't actually make the time pass too fast, and that meant she could at least attempt to ask a question. After swallowing her fear, she glanced about in a rather inquisitive manner, hoping to find someone that wasn't too intimidating to ask her question to.
