personality:
Bubbly - Emma is a naturally talented and a lively, vivacious person. She loves life, and knows to treasure every second, as told to her by her mother, referencing her father’s unexpected death. She wants to remember every moment and make it count.
Witty - Emma's natural born talent is sweet sarcasm. Every response feels like it was carefully thought out, though her comic timing is perfect. Her wit is subtle, and almost unnoticeable at first. It takes a long conversation with this girl to find her smart retorts.
Loyal - Emma is very loyal to the core. She'd do anything and everything for those she loves and holds close to her. She is rather picky about her closest friends, but once you get on her good side, it's extraordinarily hard to change that. With her loyalty comes the expectance that her friends will respect this aspect of her, and try and do the same.
Manipulative - Emma loves control. She craves it. It is a necessary part of her life. Everything must go according to her perfect plan. She's not afraid to order someone around, since that's the way she was born and raised. Of course, she's not rude, she's quite a lady about it. In fact, so manipulation is her way of getting another person to complete her wishes.
Spoiled - Emma was spoiled all her life, so she wants what she wants, when she wants it; nothing less, and nothing more. Sometimes this leads her into trouble, though those closest to her have learned to cope.
Critical - Just as she is extraordinarily critical of herself, Emma is critical of others. She is definitely one to judge. No matter who you are, she always sees the implications of your actions, and will try and give you advice and maybe even a lesson on how to be perfect.
Curious - Ever since she was a child, Emma has always been one to stick her nose into matters where it really doesn’t belong. She has a lively, determined spirit to her that only fuels this inquisitive manner of hers.

history: Born to two adoring parents, Emma Mercier had a relatively normal childhood. She grew up in a normal size house, on a normal street, in the relatively normal New York City. Her family had a decent amount of money, which was enough to afford to send her to the local private school to ensure a fantastic education. Yes, everything in her life was very pleasant. That is, until the mysterious disappearance of her father.
Her mother said it was a car accident. Her aunt had said he caught a fatal disease. Her teachers told her he was shot. Every story she was told was different, but the only thing Emma was certain of was that her beloved father was gone from her life forever. Little did she know that her father didn’t die in a car wreck, from any sort of disease, or bullet wound. He had been killed under rather unusual circumstances. He had been killed by a vampire.
You see, the Merciers weren’t just any normal business people in New York City. They were two of the most active members of The Resistance, a league of vampire hunters in New York City. Her father was the truly exceptional slayer of the two, that is, until he got frighteningly close to killing Klaus himself, and ended up dead, probably killed by one of his minions, but it was impossible to be certain of such a fact. So, in her father’s absence, Mrs. Mercier took up an even greater interest in The Resistance, and after years of passionate work for them, she rose up in the ranks to become the second man, or well, woman, in command.
Of course, out of concern for her daughter’s safety, Mrs. Mercier never told Emma anything about her true life. She told her daughter she was a business woman working in insurance. There was no need for her to ever find out the truth about her family and drag her into the mess. But, as Emma got older, her curiosity started to grow.
Rumors had always floated around her school about her parents, of that Emma was certain, but was she wasn’t sure of was which ones of them were true. So, she took it upon herself to discover more about her family, more specifically her father’s disappearance. She had only just begun her search, but she was determined for her mother not to catch on. Emma knew there was something she was not telling her, but she needed to find out exactly what that was.
Now enter the mysterious stranger. Emma began constantly running into a man who she couldn't help but find herself dangerously attracted to. There was just something about him that gave off a sort of air of defiance that was utterly irresistible. But, she was not going to let him know that. She was the type to play hard to get, and boy did she succeed in that, but he just didn't seem to get the hint that she was really not interested. In fact, he seemed utterly determined to run into her, and charm her at every chance he got. Little did Emma know that the man she met late one night at the Metropolitan Museum of Art was none other than a vampire.
It was only a matter of months after their meeting he managed to seduce her and turn her into a vampire, quickly fleeing the city, his revenge now complete. You see, her own mother had killed one of his closest friends, and this was how he was going to repay her. Completely disgusted and grief stricken, Mrs. Mercier kicked out her daughter, who she believed might as well be dead.
Emma spent the next twenty-five years discovering herself as a new vampire, roaming around New York city, running into others of her kind who taught her how to survive. Eventually, wanting to get rid of the city and its painful memories, she left, and slowly made her way from city to city, running through as many heavily populated vampire ones she could remember from her parent's research. Now, she's reached Mystic Falls, and is ready to spend a little time here.

It had been a very long summer for little miss Vivien. Filled with planning the dream wedding for the man she loved. The problem? The bride was none other than her twin sister. She was immersed in it twenty-four-seven, and it drove her mad. Luckily, the groom was her distraction that summer. Before or after the daily planning sessions with the Queen of Spain and her sister, Vivien and Dante would sneak off for some alone time. Somehow, he managed to get her through the most emotionally difficult summer of her life, and yet, he was the cause of it all. Her head was just so jumbled at the moment. Luckily, she and her sister were on better terms now. Maybe it had to do with some of the new found compassion Vivien found she actually possessed quite a bit of. She wasn’t sure exactly if Gabriella had any suspicions about her weird behavior lately, but she hoped not. Her relationship with Dante could not be revealed. Well, at least for now. If ever. She wished more than anything at the moment they didn’t have to hide anything, but, it was fun to have a bit of mystery and excitement in her life. It was part of the initial appeal, after all, she supposed. Yes, it had been a strange summer, and she had to admit, she was a bit happy to be back to the norms of school. Though, she definitely wasn’t looking forward to all eyes being back on her. It would make meetings with Dante ten times as difficult. At least they would have memories of Spain to comfort them.
Vivien had arrived at school exactly a week ago now. Classes had just barely started, which meant, of course, loads of free time on her hands. She and Nada had arranged to have the perfect girls night in. The rest of the Queens were out tonight at some party or other, but she and Nada were staying in and having a party of their own. Of course, she had ordered her servant to make the room look like slumber party heaven, and, her servant, knowing Vivien’s expectations of their work, make it look exactly that. There was popcorn, chocolate covered strawberries, martinis, and a few choice chick flicks.
She grinned to herself at the thought of catching up with one of her best friends. Nada’s wedding had been absolutely beautiful. She was so grateful to be a bridesmaid in the ceremony. Nada had looked jaw-droppingly stunning in her dress, and the day couldn’t have been more perfect, from Vivien’s point of view. She couldn’t believe she had tears in her eyes at the vows, but she couldn’t help but think she would never be in the same situation. Sure, she might have to be married one day, but it would never be to a man she loved. It was a depressing thought that she constantly carried with her. Only once did this summer did Vivien break down. One night she spent sobbing uncontrollably into a pillow at the depressing thoughts that filled her head, and over the sheer pressure she was under. She was fairly sure it was the first time that had ever happened in her life, and it shocked her to the core. She always had it under control, and it frightened her that at this moment in time, she had lost it. Yes, she needed a friend to talk to and a night of fun.
Vivien glanced towards the door as she heard a knock.”One minute!”She walked to the door, and threw it open with a grin on her face.”Nada! I missed you! Or should I call you Mrs. Theo?”She giggled as she gave her friend a huge hug.
