Kasia let out an exaggerated sigh as she sat crossed legged in the middle of her bed. It had only been a few days since her and her mother moved here to Mystic Falls to help keep an eye on her grandma and so far it just looked like a boring small town, the complete opposite of where she had previously lived. In New York there was usually a ton of people walking about and always something going on or something to do, but she failed to see much of anything happening in this town. The young girl continued to sit on her bed and stare out the window as she thought about what all she could possibly do to stay entertained, but only came up with a few ideas. Is was a start.
Well, I guess I could walk around town a bit. I'm gonna need to become familiar with the town so I'll know where everything is located...
she thought to herself as she pushed herself off of the bed and walked over to her small vanity to pick up a hair tie. With the hair tie in hand, she began to pull her hair back into a pony tail so that she could get it out of her face, and then proceeded to let her mom know she was going to go out for a little bit. Due to the fact that it was about six in the evening, the sun was starting to set and made the sky fill out with hues of light pink, purple, and orange. A small smile played on her lips as she slowly began to walk down the street towards town. the soft sounds of crickets and birds filled her ears as the town square started to come into view but before she could made it to the town square, a small path that looked like it lead the way into the wood caught her eye. Curious as to where it led, she switched directions and began to follow the path into the woods. These woods are definitely bigger than I first thought they were. she thought as she walked deeper into the woods. She was about to give up and turn around when noticed some falls only a little bit off in the distance. Once she approached the falls she stood there and stared at them in awe. She had never expected to see anything so beautiful in this small town that she now called home. She was quickly brought back to reality once she noticed that it was finally starting to get dark. Since she was still really new to the town and not totally familiar with all the roads, she didn't really wanna end up lost in the woods at night. In a rush to make it back to the road before it got too dark, she striped over a tree root and collided with the hard ground. "Oww" she cried out as she saw a scratch on her arm start to bleed. Kasia tried to wipe the blood off but gave up when she had a hard time getting it to stop. "Just wonderful" she said sarcastically to herself. tagged. Open count. 548 words clothes. : comments. None credit. pan @ caution2.0[/blockquote][/blockquote]

To say the least, Ginger was not a long time friend of Mystic Falls. She hasn't been around for ages, neither had she moved there within the year. The fairy was somewhat in between all of that. She had spent most of her years drifting all over the United States, never staying in one place too long. Either other supernaturals moved in or she got tired of the town or city or wherever it was that she was calling home. But so far she had found the little town in Virginia to be quite alright. Sure, she didn't know any fairies like she did in Jersey or Louisiana, but she had a nice boyfriend who she lived with and talked to her dear old aunt nearly every week. It was a nice existence, she hadn't found anything wrong with it, not yet at least.
Every sensible fae folk knew better than to roam about the woods at night. More often than not bad things lurked in those forests and dark mysterious places. Things that would only cause trouble and harm to a lone little fairy like Ginger. It was a known fact that far were stronger together, and if a vampire had the mind to, it could take her down if it really tried hard. Sure, they were powerful but they weren't almighty. Everything had weaknesses.
But sadly, Ginger found that the only places she could really practice her photokinetics were in the forest or in the apartment, and that was a fire hazard. Besides, she didn't want to disturb her boyfriend from his sleep, he needed it much more than she did. Plus it kept her from trying to enter his dreams, which she found herself rather tempted to do quite often.
So there she sat, alone on an old tree stump. Ginger held out her fingers like the little alien did in E.T. and watched as a tiny ball of light materialized on her fingertips. She sent it back and forth, back and forth between her two index fingers. It was a tedious task, but she felt that if she practiced at least something she wouldn't forget it all together. It wasn't a bad idea either. It helped to pass the time as well.
Her attention was drawn away by a shadow moving off to the side. Being the curious sort, Ginger couldn't help but to quietly stand and follow the shadow to see where it would lead.
The shadow entered a clearing and stared at the falls. Ginger found that odd and boring, she expected at least a little fun out of it all. But it didn't seem like this little girl was going to get into anything.
However things did take a turn for the better when the girl suddenly bolted. Ginger felt as if she was involved in the sprint and followed not far behind, her footfalls sounding nothing more than a mere whisper on the ground below.
The girl soon fell, tripping over a branch and leaving a nasty scrape on her arm. Right away Ginger could smell the iron of her blood. Her nose wrinkled in disgust, iron was toxic to fairies in every form. But she couldn't let the girl sit there and bleed all over the place; blood attracted things far worse than mosquitos in this area.
So she stepped out of hiding and tossed her blonde hair over her shoulder. "You should get that taken care of, you know, before something happens." Of course, Ginger was talking about vampires. But she wasn't too sure the girl would know, and leaving things vague was one of her many talents. Leaving the mind to wander is a beautiful and wretched thing.

Kasia let out a puff of air as she took the sleeve of her shirt and wiped off the blood once more. Seriously. How can one small cut bleed so much?! This can't be normal.
she thought, annoyed that the one time she was in a hurry something like this would happen. When shes finally took her focus off of her arm, she noticed how quickly the sun was setting. Eh. So much for getting out of here before dark I guess. Kasia was quickly brought out of her thoughts when she heard an unfamiliar voice speak to her. Startled by the sudden presence of a stranger before, she jumped at the sound of stranger. ”O..oh. Hey..there..she responded, unsure of how to react. She had always been a little socially awkward. It was then that she remembered the girl mentioning something about the wound she had managed to acquire. ”Oh, it's just a small little cut. I'm pretty sure it'll stop bleeding here any second now so I should be fine. Um, thanks for your concern though.” she added on with a small friendly smile. Kasia looked at the girl and noticed that she didn't even know her name yet since neither of them had gotten around to actually introducing themselves. ”Er...my name is Kasia by the way. By any chance would you happen to know how to actually get back towards town? I only moved here a few days ago and I'm sorta...lost. she questioned the stranger. She figured that the girl had been in the woods for a reason and would most likely know her way around. If she doesn't know the the way back to town, it's gonna probably be a long night... she thought as she waited to for the girl to respond. tagged. Open count. 330 clothes. : comments. Small little cuts. Humans had it so easy. If it had been Ginger with the small little cut, any bloodthirsty creature in the forest would've been stampeding toward her. Vampires might have as well, depended on if any were nearby. And the iron, even if it wasn't all iron, there was a hint of it and that made Ginger's stomach churn uneasily.
Maybe she was being a little selfish, she didn't care very much if there was some creature who came along and pounced on the girl and ate her up. No, that didn't matter nearly as much to her. She only wanted it cleaned and taken care of so she didn't have to smell that damned iron!
The girl seemed blissfully polite as she smiled and thanked Ginger for her concern. Oh if she only knew that it was for such selfish reasons. But she took praise when she got it.
"My pleasure. Cuts can be nasty things." She replied rather cooly, professionally handling her discomfort.
The introduction seemed a little awkward and shy, stating her name and asking for a way out of the forest. At this Ginger couldn't help but raise a brow. She knew for sure that she had decades on this girl, and her wise elder side began to seep through. "You know, it's not a very smart thing to do. Wandering off into the forest alone at sunset. If I were you, Kasia, I would have taken a friend. Someone who knows this forest like the back of their hand."
Ginger paused to admire the flawless skin on the back of her hand and smirked. "Sadly I'm not one of those people. But I'm remarkable with directions so your luck hasn't ran out yet. By the way, name's Ginger." To say Kasia was socially awkward was putting things lightly. The girl knew that when it came to social situations she wasn't exactly an easy person to talk to because most of the time she found a way to make things feel awkward, and right now things were no different. After addressing the girl's concern for her scratch and asking if she knew the way back to town, a silence seemed to fall between the two girls as Kas waited for her to respond with a simple “yes” or “no” or at least something in between the two.
While the brunette waited to hear what the stranger had to say, she thought she heard something not to far away from where she was standing and started to feel uncomfortable. I really hope that was just a squirrel or something.
she thought nervously. While under normal circumstances she wouldn't have thought anything about the sound, this wasn't exactly a normal circumstance for her. She was only god knows how far into the woods in a town she didn't know that well and depending on some stranger to help her get back to town before who knows what kind of animal would make an appearance and try to attack them. She didn't like it one bit. The sound of the strangers voice rang in her ears as she listened to words that came from her mouth. ”I'm new...just moved here a few days ago. I wouldn't normally go just anywhere by myself, but nothing really looked dangerous enough to need to have someone with me...yet.” she responded to the mini warning the girl had seemed to give her. Kas got an odd feeling from the girl that she wasn't too sure about. Something felt weird in the way that she seemed more concerned about a cut then most people normally do and the fact that she made it clear that people shouldn't be out here without somebody with them. Just stop. You're only being paranoid where it's not needed. she mentally scolded herself as the stranger went on and finally introduced herself. The young girl flinch a little when she though she heard something once more and then quickly became relieved once she heard that the girl could get her back towards town. ”That's good!” she replied, a little to happily. She instantly realized how awkwardly she probably just sounded. ”Sorry, it's just getting really dark and my mom is probably freaking out right now. I never actually intended to end up here...in the woods... she trailed off I should just call it a night and stop even trying to be remotely normal. This girl probably thinks I'm crazy. she thought to herself. Right now she just wanted to get home and get some sleep before she embarrassed herself more than she already had. tagged. Ginger was the type who could dance effortlessly around a topic and make a person writhe in anticipation or paranoia or whatever else tickled her fancy. She was mischievous, she couldn't help herself. Besides, this girl made it all too easy.
She suddenly mentally scolded herself. Taking advantage of a young newcomer wasn't the right thing to do. Taking advantage of anyone really wasn't the right thing to do. She wasn't a bad guy.
The sound of the forest settling, or footsteps or an animal or whatever the hell it was, seemed to cause the girl, Kasia, a bit of unrest. That was explainable, as Ginger thought that she might feel it too if she was in her shoes. But she wasn't, so no time to think on such silly things.
Ginger couldn't help but laugh slightly at her reply. The forest didn't seem dangerous, take someone with her yet. "Darling, if there was ever a time to have an escort it would be your first time." This was meant to be wise words passed on to an up and coming generation, and Ginger could only hope that Kasia didn't take offense to it.
Conversation and distractions seemed to help Ginger get her mind off the sick smell of iron, and for that she was grateful. If she could keep this up she could likely get the girl safely into town without dry heaving!
Darkness. That wasn't a big deal to Ginger at all. She had that inner fae light, and she had been raised to use it whenever she pleased. People running in fear didn't bother her anymore. Like anyone would believe it. Someone shooting light out of their hands like the damned alien E.T. Such a flimsy and unbelievable tale.
She grinned in the growing darkness. It was one of those impish smiles one would imagine a bad sprite to get on a badly written fairy tale movie. "Dark? Oh not a problem. I'm like a walking flashlight, if you know what I mean."

A light, cool breeze came into contact with Kasia's skin and almost instantly gave her goosebumps all down her arm. The more she thought about it, the more she almost didn't want to go home. She had a feeling that once she managed to show back up at the house her mother wasn't exactly going to be all that thrilled with the fact she stayed out as long as she had so far. Anytime the girl stayed out and came back after dark, her mother always assumed she was doing things that she shouldn't be or that she was out somewhere breaking the law. I wish she'd get it through her head that, that stuff is behind me now. she thought angerly.
Now that introductions were done with and out of the way, things felt a little less awkward for Kasia, though she still harbored an odd feeling from the girl she had just met only a dew minuets before. After she had made her comment about not finding the woods a place to be dangerous enough to need an escort, he heard Ginger speak out against it once more. Maybe when I get some free time I should find the library and try to figure out exactly what kinds of animals are in here. She seems pretty serious about not walking around in here around...but why is she alone?
the young brunette pondered. ”I'll remember that. Maybe if I bring someone next time I won't get so lost.” she answered back, although she didn't know who she would bring with her. At the moment, all she really had was her mother and grandma, and she knew that neither of them would really like to go for a little “hike.”She had started to stay something to the redheaded girl, but quickly closed her mouth when she realized that she wasn't totally sure what she was going to say in the first place. By this time, the sun had pretty much almost completely set and it was just dark enough that at least some sort of source of light was going to be needed to help them see where they were going. Before she even got the chance to think about light, Ginger spoke out about being a walking flash light as if she had been reading what was on her mind. ”That's probably a good thing really. I don't think my cell phone would have made a great flash light.” she replied, ignoring the last part of the girl's sentence. A few seconds after she had mentioned her cell phone, she heard it go off and start to play “cups.” Kasia shoved her hand in her pocked and brought out her phone to see who was texting her. The light from the phone softly lit up her face as she scanned the text before shutting it off and placing it back in her pocket without replying to the message. I guess we better get going. I'm in pretty hot water at the moment...just like I always seem to be... she stated as a sigh escaped her lips. She just wished that for once her family wouldn't always assume the worse of her. tagged. Open count. 532 words clothes. : comments. None credit. pan @ caution2.0[/blockquote][/blockquote]
