history: Jenna was born on May 18th, 1982 to the parents of Nathan and Melissa Sommers. She had an older sister Miranda who was always the mature of the two. Growing up Jenna was always a wild child. She loved running around and playing with whatever she could get her hands on. She was always more outgoing that her older sister who constantly tried to keep her out of trouble. Jenna went to Mystic Falls High School and was best friends with Mason Lockwood. They partied a lot together. Jenna used drugs a lot back in high school and for a while she had a sexual relationship with John Gilbert. The relationship ended badly and she ended up hating him. She fell in love with Logan Fell. Jenna had a great relationship with Logan Fell until she found him cheating on her. The relationship ended badly and Jenna was hurt. She hated Logan for hurting her like that.
In May Jenna’s older sister and brother-in-law drove off a bridge in a car accident. They both died and only Elena survived. She moved back to Mystic Falls to take care of Elena and Jeremy. Jenna found out that Jeremy was using drugs and tried to reach out to him by sharing her story about how she use to do drugs and all. Jenna has a hard time trying to become a responsible parent role. Jenna meets Logan Fell at the Founders Ball and resents him so tell him no when he asks her out on a date but after talking to Elena she finally agrees to go out with Logan Fell. She gets her heart broken because he is the same person he has always been. Jenna gets introduced to Alaric Saltzman, Jeremy and Elena’s teacher, and they seem to hit it off pretty good. She started liking him though never admitted it to anyone at first. Logan tried to get Jenna to invite him in after he was turned into a vampire and tried to compel her but she was taking vervain so she could resist him.
Jenna danced with Alaric at the 60s dance at the high school. He walked her home and told her about his ex-wife who was named Isobel, just like Elena’s birth mother. He then asked her to go on a real date and Jenna said yes. Elena soon confronted her about knowing about her birth mother and never telling her. Soon after that Jenna and Alaric started dating and shared their first kiss. Jenna got Elena the information she asked for about her birth mother which revealed Isobel’s last name before marrying Alaric, a friend of Isobel, and a picture of them at Grover Hill High School. Jenna caught Katherine kissing Damon, who she thought was Elena, and told her to come into the house, because she didn’t like Damon, which gave Katherine an invite into the house.
