secrets: Risika doesn't give anyone reason to believe that she actually cares for anything and instead puts on a show of her cold and heartless nature. In truth she does but she sees this as a sign of weakness and won't show her true feelings.
personality: Risika can be rather cold and cruel, she has a very tough exterior which makes her instantly feared by anyone she comes into contact with. But she is definitely more complex than one would consider, she can be vile and cruel however she does have more than one side to her.
She is rather impatient at times, stubborn, outspoken, confident and has a very short temper so it would be wise to not provoke her as she would most likely respond with aggression. She is not afraid to speak her mind and when she does she can sometimes upset people with her comments and this makes her easily disliked.
Risika is very mysterious, it is hard to determine her motifs most of the time, and she is a gifted manipulator. Her art lies within her mental abilities. For a vampire, Risika is exceptionally gifted with her ability to manipulate, influence and read a human's mind. She tends to almost always only do anything if she gets something out of it or something in return but she'll get the job done for you, if you know how to persuade her or what she wants. She is a skilled warrior and outright daring.
Risika is as they say a "lone wolf" and enjoys her own company although it doesn't go entirely unwanted. Her loyalty is something that cannot be questioned and once friends with her you are for life and she'd gladly help a friend out whenever they need or ask for it. She enjoys her freedom and won't allow anyone to take it from her.
mother: Lilith Amelia Marx (human, deceased)
father: William Edwin Marx (human, deceased)
siblings: Rowan Lynette Marx (twin, witch, deceased)
other family: none
other important people: Aubrey Redfern (sire), Isabeau Redfern (Aubrey's sister).
history: Risika was born to William and Lilith Marx on the eve of November 8th, 1684 along with her twin sister Rowan. Soon after the birth, their mother died and her father was devestated. He was left to care for their baby girls. Risika was given the middle name "Lilith" in honour of the mother she never got the chance to meet. Rowan told her what she could remember of her and it was truly amazing the detail in which she could recall everything as if it she wasn't a newborn at the time it occurred. Rowan believed she possessed powers that other ordinary people did not and as a child Risika believed her, looking out for her twin, but as she grew she was less certain.
The twins were definitely not identical. Rowan was a rather pretty girl with an auburn shade hair that she wore loosely around her shoulders and moss green eyes but she had this aura about her that made her seem alien and people tended to avoid her. Risika had a dark brunette shade hair that she wore in different styles and blue eyes similar to her mother's including the silver sheen they had to it. They couldn't be more different in personalities either. Rowan was the quiet, shy one that kept often to herself (except from Risika of course) and Risika was the confident, bold and daring one.
Rowan was...different from the others. The other children often called her names which she was never upset about saying that she knew she wasn't like them and they were afraid of her. Nevertheless, Risika defended her sister whenever she could, she loved her sister.
When the twins turned sixteen, people regarded her as the more beautiful of the sisters. She recieved much attention from admirers which Risika knew Rowan was jealous of though she never said anything to her face. She was rather good at interpreting the emotions of others. It was around this time that Rowan grew more and more guarded, even from her sister, and this frightened Risika. She read strange books and talked about demons and special gifts but it wasn't until a few months later that she started mentioning "witchcraft" to Risika. Risika didn't believe in such a thing and as they were brought up in the catholic faith she thought that her twin should put such thoughts out from her head. She told her she couldn't since she believed she was "damned". Risika was horrified at the idea and insisted that she was no such thing. How could such a sweet, caring, kind person be?
On the day of their eighteenth birthday that was when everyting changed. Their was a knock at the door and that was when Risika first met the young man by the name of Aubrey Redfern. He came with his sister Isabeau, whom was a very beautiful girl around Risika and Rowan's age. She was fair; with long, golden locks and pale, flawless skin that any girl would surely die for. Their father had only let them in as they had asked for Risika by name so he assumed that she knew them. She didn't. Risika was curious to know why they had come and it was then that Rowan entered the room with a look of shock and fear in her eyes at the sight of the two. Clearly she knew who they were.
Rowan demanded that they leave and she remembered their father scolding her for treating their guests in such a manner but it was then that Isabeau struck. She moved so fast that she was a blur and was suddenly across the room, grasping their father's neck and her head lowered to it. Risika remebered seeing the fangs and screaming. She turned to see Rowan trying to reason with Aubrey who had no intention of being "denied what he had the right to" was exactly how he described it but before she could ask what was going on she saw Isabeau sinking her fangs into her father's neck.
She screamed again and ran towards her, attempting to do anything to save her father from whatever kind of creature this girl was. Isabeau was forcebly thrown away from their father and she hit the wall. Ignoring her, Risika tended to her father whom she realized was dead. Angry she demanded to know what was happening. Rowan then told her she was a witch and Risika had laughed hysterically. She was hurt that her sister could joke at a time like this but she was speaking the truth. She had thrown Isabeau across the room...using "her powers". Risika didn't know what to believe and then, Aubrey temporarily forgotten, back-handed Rowan and hit the opposite wall. He then turned his attention on Risika and before she could react he had bitten her. She knew she was going to die and she didn't want to. Not without knowing why anyway.
Risika then awoke to find an empty house. He father's body remained lying limp on the floor and her sister was missing. All that was left of her was her ring, she always wore it and it was a very beautiful thing. It was a deep blue colour, it was some kind of stone that Risika could never remember the name of and had a symbol of a black wolf on it. She later found out what it did. Risika knew she had become a demon, a creature of the night and she hated Aubrey for it. He had taken her family away from her. She vowed she would have her revenge. She came to Mystic Falls by chance really and intends to stir some trouble.

Wandering the streets of Sunnydale at night was perhaps not the best idea as the creatures that lurked in the darkness were something to fear indeed. It was fortunate then that Echo was one of them, at least in some ways as her loyalties rested elsewhere. Some might think it a breeze having a soul but in truth it wasnft easy, there was always the danger of doing something regrettable once the bloodlust started to kick in. Echo hadnft fed in a while and that made her more of a risk to those fragile humans. It wasnft carelessness exactly that had brought about this but she intended to get herself a clear plastic, bag full of animal blood. It wasnft particularly appetising but it beats having the real stuff. Echo didnft trust herself with even just a drop of human blood as the craving would take over her and she just might lose control. It was a risk she wouldnft take, not with all those lifes at stake.
Time seemed to pass by rather slowly which irritated Echo and still she had not come across anything that she could kill. She was a vampire who hunted vampires. Strange and in some ways unnatural but if you knew the reason then you might understand. Echo didnft like to broadcast her soul-having and it was so rare in fact that many didnft draw the conclusion, that or their intelligence was in question. She wasnft in a particularly happy mood this evening and it was as if this radiated from her like the sun and those who sensed it ran for cover. That thought irritated Echo further as then she wouldnft be able to find anything to amuse herself with.
She hadnft paid much attention to where she was going and she let her feet decide her destination as she scanned the area for any signs of vampire activity. Her heels clicked noisily as she strolled, in such a graceful and elegant manner that it hinted at her supernatural being, down the sidewalk. Echo had chosen to wear a grey, face print dress that showed off her slim figure and it ended a few inches above the knee, a tangle of silver necklaces draped down her neck and rested on the exposed skin. If you knew Echo well enough then you would smile at the familiarity of the leather jacket she wore, she very rarely took it off, and it was her favourite piece of clothing that she owned. She had a couple of stakes stuffed safely away in the pockets as it wouldnft do if she were unarmed, not that she couldnft hold her own against another vampire but that she would have no means of disposing of it.
Her long, brunette hair cascaded around her shoulders in natural waves and she lifted a hand up to pull it all over her right shoulder. There was no real need for make-up as her skin was slightly pale and flawless; however she had put on some dark eye shadow and black eyeliner to accent her dark, brown eyes with just a touch of lip gloss. Despite the lack of make-up her appearance was overall glamorous, it was unfair to compare her to humans as none could muster up to the superiority of her vampirism but even before she had been considered a very beautiful woman. Echo was not modest about this but even so she couldn't care less, she lived for the fight.
After a few more minutes of walking, the sound of distant music playing drifted into her ears. Echo only hesitated for what seemed like a split second for a human before she let out a sigh and headed in the direction of the sound. She found herself at The Bronze, only ever having visited the outside of the club; she made up her mind to venture inside. She made it past the burly bouncer with ease as she flashed him a flirtatious smile and he gladly opened the door for her.
As soon as she had set foot within the club she knew instantly it had been a mistake. The scene wasn't quite her style, even though she blended in without difficulty, it wasnft that what worried her. It was the numerous gathered humans within that caused her to cringe. She could smell the blood that pulsated through their veins and it was such an inviting, delicious scent that it was almost impossible for her to resist. It seemed all too much as their beating hearts sounded loudly in her ears and she hurried over to the bar, pushing past the masses of bodies carelessly as she went. Vodka! She barked, her hands slamming down onto the counter top as she addressed the bartender. He looked shocked at her boldness but he seemed too frightened to argue and handed her the drink hastily. Echo downed the glass as if it were water rather than alcohol. The slight warmth of the liquid was pleasant as it ran down her throat and it was as if her own heart was beating again, even the volume of the music could not diminish its delightful sound. She was grateful for it as the vodka began to take effect and lessen her craving for blood. She took no notice of those around her and only made eye contact with the bartender who quickly began to refill her glass possibly afraid of another outburst.
