She’s bubbly and fun, and likes to crack jokes, more often than not at someone else’s expense, but it’s never personal, she just doesn’t like to see a chance for a joke go by and not do anything about it. She’s a goofball most of the time, but she’s also a huge flirt. This doesn’t mean she does anything with the people she flirts, but she does it so much, it’s gotten her in trouble a lot, and it just comes naturally; she can’t even fight it.
She is very reliable and loves punctuality, and trustworthy as she is most of the time, her biggest guilty pleasure is the occasional gossip, and with being able to listen in on people’s minds, she can’t help it sometimes.
mother: Clara Melinda Phillips (née Smith)
father: Ronald Lawrence Phillips
siblings: Lilly and Michael
other family: none worth mentioning
other important people: all her friends?
history:
Nikki is the middle child of Clara and Ronald, hard working middle class parents who have always done their very best to give their three children the best they could. Nikki was born only two years after her oldest brother Mikey, and ever since she was a child, she knew there was something different about her. She could hear people’s thoughts ever since she was very young, and even though for a while she thought everybody could, it wasn’t long until she discovered she was one of very few.
Growing up, different aspects and abilities were discovered, always kept secret from everyone but her family and closest friends knew about them, and gladly the incidents that happened due to her abilities were never anything beyond repair, even though convincing Mrs. Morris that she had only imagined she saw Nikki walking through her bedroom wall (which was nothing but Nikki’s projection trying to find their baseball she’d taken) was nothing but a dream.
Ever since starting High School, Nikki has found a group of friends that understands her better than she could have ever hoped for, being accepted and welcomed much better than she could have hoped for. She’s been advanced one year, because she aced every single test in her freshman year and no proof of cheating was ever found, so she was considered gifted and moved on to the sophomore class sooner, which is where she met her current, awesomesteak friends.

role play sample:
Who in their right mind would come into work on their day off? Alice was still going to med school, thankfully almost done, and she was still working as a nurse, not only because she absolutely loved it, but also because it counted as experience and in her line of work, experience was always good. And yet, there she was, in the deli section of the grocery store that was located halfway between her place and the hospital where she worked. She grabbed about a dozen fresh sandwiches, all of them in cute plastic to-go boxes, with labels saying what was in them, and due date. She checked them all, making sure they were all fresh, and smiled to herself when she saw they had all just been made.
She put them all in the gray basket she’d been holding and, after thanking the sweet chubby lady who’d helped her, moved on to the drinks department, all the way to the back where the cold drinks were, in the wall covered by coolers from one end all the way to the other, making the back of the grocery store shine differently due to all the individual lights all the coolers had, and their reflection off the shiny polished floors. She hummed to the Sara Bareilles song she’d been listening to in her car. She grabbed herself a bottle or Orange juice and then a few seemingly random drinks, reciting to herself in a low voice everybody’s favorites. ”Linda likes Fanta orange… Cass likes iced tea…”, she sang to the rhythm of the song that was stuck in her head as she walked down the aisle grabbing everything, her moccasins squeaking softly as she moved.
After grabbing everything and adding it all to the basket, she headed to check out, pausing only to grab a small red cooler she’d seen earlier and hadn’t decided whether or not she wanted to buy it yet, but given their new habit of taking turns to buy everybody lunch once a week, she figured it’d be a good thing to have, everyone could use it, and at least the drinks would remain cold. She paid for everything and headed out towards her car, opening the passenger door and putting the paper bag with the sandwiches in, then taking the drinks out of the bag they were in and putting them in the cooler.
She then moved around to the driver side and got in, starting her car and setting out for the hospital. So maybe most people avoided coming into work on their day off, it made perfect sense to her, but the only friends she had were the people she worked with, so what was wrong about spending some more time with them even if she wasn’t working? She turned up the radio, grabbing her iPod and connecting it to the adaptor so that she could listen to the song she’d been listening to before. The wind blew through her long locks as she snaked through traffic, her car attracting the weirdest looks from people. So it was old, big deal. It worked perfectly, got her where she had to be, and it had been cheap. And she liked to make herself believe it had personality, which helped her get over how old it was.
Soon enough she arrived at the hospital, and after she parked, she got out, went over to the passenger side and grabbed everything; the cooler was held close to her chest by her right arm, her phone and money bag firmly in hand, while the left hand carried the paper bag with the sandwiches. The wind blew softly, causing her grey sweater to rustle softly as she walked, but it was a good contrast to the sun, it balanced things out perfectly.
She walked up to the automatic doors, walking as soon as they opened and greeting Carly, the receptionist. She went into the elevators and, with much struggle, pressed the fourth floor button, headed to the employee break room to hopefully manage a meal with her closest pals.
See? Nothing wrong with coming in on your day off, everything was indicating a perfectly pleasant day ahead.
Right?
