we set our story in a small, seemingly insignificant town in western texas; a place where everyone knows everyone, everything and secrets are hard to keep hidden. up until two years ago, the only people you found here were the locals and truckers who passed through on their way to the larger cities and towns.
then they came.
it started small; a young woman found on the roadside, naked and freezing. given food and shelter, she made it known she had nowhere to go. taking pity on her, the locals let her stay. after the arrival of the third, fourth, fifth stranger, they started to get suspicious. and then the attacks began.
at first they were kept to within the three days of the full moon but, soon, they were happening completely at random and seemed to have no pattern other than it looked like an animal attack. then came the wolf sightings. most people turned a blind eye but there were some who wanted to hunt them; so they did. and it was because of this that the existence of the werewolves became known.
devil's creek is in the middle of a warzone - the werewolves have split into different packs and continue to fight amongst themselves. the hunters are imprisoning them in a bid to find a cure and as for the humans? they make good chew toys.
