It was the early hours of the morning, about two hours until dawn. Edik breathed in the fresh moist air and let out a soft sigh, then zipped up his leather jacked, it was a nice snug fit around the chest. He pulled his black helmet over his head and lifted the visor so that the fresh morning air would blast him in the face as he was riding. Lastly he slipped his gloves on and started his motorbikes engine, the purr the bike made sent a chill down Edik's spine. He couldn't believe he'd liked boats so much in the past, his new obsession was motorbikes, Edik found them very sexy machines which needed upgrading every month. Smiling to himself he climbed on, clicked it into gear, twisted the throttle and like the beast the Kawasaki ninja was it let out a roar of pride as Edik gained speed on the road.
He'd only spent one night in mystic falls and had over heard someone in the grill mentioning that the town's waterfall was a spectacular sight, so Edik thought he'd have to give it a visit before he left town. Living for a long time made Edik want to see as much of the world as he could. He headed out of the main town and made his way up the hills and into the trees, following signs to the waterfall. Edik went off of the main road and down a dusty side track until he found himself in a small empty car park. He spotted his engine and climbed off. As soon as Edik removed his helmet he heard the smashing of water crashing onto jagged rocks.Well it sounds like quite a sight, might as well have a look. He thought tucking his gloves into his helmet. It was still quite dark but Edik could hear the early birds which had awoke and began to sing. Edik took his jacket off and stashed his motorbike gear, apart from the key in a nearby bush.
A short five minute walk along a thin trail through some trees and Edik saw that it was going to be quite a climb to the top of the waterfall, but he had nothing better to do so he casually began the slow climb. By the time Edik drew close to the top, thin rays of light had began to shine through the treetops. He was simply killing time and there was plenty of it. Reaching the top of the climb Edik saw the river at long last which would lead to the drop of the waterfall. Then Edik's eyes lit up as he saw a large black bear fishing in the shallows of the river.
Edik stalked his way closer to the edge of the river and stood watching the bear which was pacing up and down at the edge of the opposite side. The bear sniffed the air and picked up on Edik's sent, it turned around a let out a small growl. Edik took a step into the river towards the bear and it stood on it's back legs, raising it's paws and roaring a challenge. Edik smiled slightly, "brave bear I would let you live, but without your pride there would be no point." Edik said softly as he continued to walk calmly towards it.
The bear swiped at the air infront of it with it's giant paws warning Edik to stay back, but he just continued to walk forward now striding through the water at waist depth. The currents in the water were strong, but not strong enough to bother Edik very much, as he got closer to the bears side of the river and the water got shallower the bear decided it's best bet was to go in for the attack while Edik was still in the water. So as the bear came splashing through the water towards him Edik decided it was time to strike. Making it quick and easy Edik jumped into the air, spun around and landed on the bears back, he lent back and with all his strength, twisted, snapped and yanked the bears head straight off of it's body, so blood poured freely from the Bear's neck. The water around Edik ran blood red, Edik drank as much as he could from the bears neck, he needed it he'd barely had any blood over the last few days. He was dieing for some human blood, trying to cut down on it was proving difficult.
Once Edik was finished he lazily pushed the bears carcass away from him and let it float down over the edge of the falls. The sun had now risen as Edik rose to his feet, he looked down and saw his chest covered in blood and imagined his face was in the same state. He walked down towards the edge where the waterfall began to drop. Edik looked down at the massive drop and a smile crept onto his face, the wind was pushing against his back as if it wanted to push him over the edge, he could smell the stench of the bears body and could see a slight red tint to the water at the bottom of the waterfall. It won't be long and that'll clear up. But me on the other hand, I'm covered in blood.
Edik concentrated for a few moments and the wind began to pick up, it wasn't long until the wind had really began to pick up and even Edik was finding it hard to keep his feet on the ground. He'd focused so that only this little area at the top of the waterfall had very, very strong winds. Edik realized he was having a mad moment, but thought he'd just go with the flow anyway and he began to sprint towards the edge of the waterfall with the wind pushing hard against the back of him. Edik ran as fast as he could, bent his knees and as graceful as a cat launched himself into the air, arms outstretched he soured a few feet up into the air and then turned it into a dive. Looking down all Edik could see was the mist and spray from the waterfall, then Splash! A blast of freezing cold water hit him and he found himself sinking down into the bottom of the pool. Edik swam up and let out a cheer as his head cleared the water. "Life's better when you take chances." He said to himself truly impressed that he hadn't hit any rocks.
