 Ruby Marie Covington- - - - - - - - - - - - -And I don't want the world to see me
So this here is Ruby Marie Covington though she is usually referred to as Ruby or Rubes. She was born on October 26th in the year 1830 which roughly makes her about 180 years old. How you may ask? Simple. Ruby is a vampire. Her feeding preference of choice is human blood though she has been known to partake in animal blood if need be. She is incredibly stubborn, manipulative when she needs to be, sarcastic, brutally honest, and has the tendency to speak before she thinks. She also has quite the short temper.
Cause I don't think that they'd understand
As far as friends go, Ruby doesn't have many of those. If it isn't her brash personality that pushes people away, it is usually her vampiric nature. She has outlived her family and most of her friends so she is used to being on her own. Ruby can be quite loyal to her friends when she does have them and that loyalty usually lasts for life. She wants to have friends though she finds it hard to find true ones since she is a vampire and she was never one to keep secrets about herself.
When everything's made to be broken
Oh enemies! Well, Ruby surely has plenty of those. If it is not someone she pissed off, it is someone related to an unfortunate person that she fed on or someone that just hates vampires in general. A sure fire way to get on her bad side is to bring up the topics of her late boyfriend/fiancé, late sister, or late father. She rarely talks about her past and hates people that act like they know her by bringing up that past. Ruby tries not to kill much, but she won't hesitate to rip out an enemy's throat and drain them dry if need be.
I just want you to know who I am
Her love life, well, that is quite complicated in a way. She was madly in love once with a man named Noah Carlyle. It hadn't been long after they fell in love that she discovered that he was a vampire. Of course that just made her more obsessed with the man that she loved and they got engaged right before he turned her. Yep, that's right, Ruby was and still is in love with her sire. Tragically, he was killed via stake by her father and then his remains were burned. She witnessed the whole thing. Ruby used to be a hopeless romantic, but her belief in romance's existence seemingly died the moment that Noah did.
She had chosen to become a vampire so that she could be with the man that she loved forever only for him to be cruelly ripped away from her. Ruby gave up her chance at a normal life. She gave it all up for love and with Noah gone forever, she fears spending an eternity alone. Ruby simply wants someone to want her for her. All she has ever wanted was to be accepted for who she is, vampire and all, and to still be considered good enough for someone despite whatever cruel things that she has done in the past. Ruby has a tendency to bottle up her feelings and tends to hide how she really feels to protect herself in the long run. She also refuses to let herself fall for a human as unlike Noah, she just couldn't go through with condemning someone to an eternity of life no matter how much she loves them.
