date of birth: 1750
date of change: 1774
hometown: London England is his home town, even though he was born in Russia.
species: Vampire
abilities: Well he has the usual strength, eyesight, smell and tracking powers. Since he's been around for a while he can make humans do things for him. He can walk in sunlight because of his "ring" which will be explained. Also he's mastered controling the weather which will also be explained. Even though he's quite old, he's never managed to turn into an animal. But if he falls for a witch, which I'm intending as I like the whole "witches coven plot" I might have him trained so that he can turn into a black cat. Therefore being able to protect his lovely witch as much as possible without raising eyebrows.

weight: 70kg making him slim but toned.
hair: Jet black and quite messy.

dislikes: Bad vampires, werewolves (had a run in around the same time he was turned).
strengths: Explained in Abilities?
weaknesses: General stakes and stuff. Plus he doesn't like fighting women at all, vampire, werewolf or human. Although when he's feeling naughty women taste a hell of a lot better!
fears: Losing control to his blood lust, having people close to him hurt and real six feet under death because he knows if there is a hell, he's on the highway to it.
secrets: His entire life. Letting people into your past is asking for trouble.

history:
Edik Dragomir was born in 1750, Moscow, Russia. He grew up very poor, his father Dante worked as a lumberjack, traveling out of the city every week and camping up in the forests. He'd only come back at the weekends and entertain Edik and his brother Alex with storys about the wolves in the forest saying that he had once seen a giant wolf taking down a great black bear.
While Dante was working, Edik and Alex only had their mother Anna to look after them. But she was not being faithful to her husband Dante, every day while Dante was away she was visiting a very rich merchant named Egor who was a very slimey type of man. He would spoil her with expensive wine and grapes. Meanwhile Edik and Alex were growing up running the 17th centry streets of Moscow, getting into all sorts of trouble. They even ended up joining a sort of guild of thieves. Both of the brothers learning skills which would stick with them for the rest of the lives. The main skill being survival and learning how to escape from sticky situations.
Edik's mother Anna became sick in 1765 when Edik was only 15 and his brother 13. Edik was on his way out one night when Egor dressed in his rich clothes knocked the door. Anna whispered for Edik to go answer the door. Edik knew who Egor was as soon as he saw the man, mainly because he was one of the richest men in the city. Egor handed Edik a note and said "Give this to your mother" with that he spun around put his hood up and climbed back onto his horse. So Edik did as he was told.
His mother read the note and began to sob, leaving Edik and Alex to sit in the next room having no idea what was going on. Two days later their father appeared and spent the last night of Anna's life by her bedside. Sadly she died and Dante wept, upset that he hadn't been able to spend more time with her. But being the bread winner in the family he had to work. He sat Edik and Alex down telling them that now their mother was gone they would have to live with their Aunte Viktoria. Both of the lads said nothing, then Edik told his father about Egor. Which changed the path of Edik's life forever. Dante read the note, which read:
Dearest Anna,
News of your sickness has reached me and my sadness cannot be expressed in this simple note. I'm only writing to say that I haven't forgotten about you and my prayers are with you. But I cannot send the family doctor to come and help you, because my wife Sophia will figure out what I have been up to. I think also that we shouldn't see each other any more. I'm sure you'll agree it was fun while it lasted and your husbands a very lucky man, I'm jealous.
But this is goodbye.
Egor.
Dante was confused at first, then he wept and then he beat Edik and Alex for the first time in their life for not keeping a close eye on their own mother. Edik swore he saw his fathers eyes flash a dangerous red colour as he did it. Then their father picked up his axe and left the house. Later that night he returned confirming the death of Merchant Egor. Edik's heart was pounding, his kind, gentle or gentle so he thought father had killed a man. What's more a very important man whos death would obviously not go unnoticed. Edik looked at his brother Alex who was as white as a ghost in the face and totally captivated by the axe dripping with blood infront of the door.
Edik turned slowly to look at his father Dante who was sitting in his chair, head in hands. "Father... We must leave..." and with that their escape began. Dante's friend from work was moving with his family to London England so they packed their bags quickly and left the same night.
London England 1772 Edik now had reached the age of 22 and his brother Alex was 19. Their father worked on the docks, loading and unloading merchant ships. He had given them both a job with him after he found out they had been up to their russian theiving tricks in London. But they both found working on the docks very boring and wished only for adventure and riches. So they both joined the English Navy serving under Captain James Cook.
On the 17th of January 1773 Captain James Cook led a voyage to the artic circle. There were two ships the Resolution was Cook's ship and the Adventure was captained by Furneaux. Both ships became lost in Artic Fog. Cook ended up staying and exploring the Artic while Furneaux's Adventure found it's way to the unexplored land of New Zealand.
Furneaux anchored his ship in a cove and sent a landing party ashore, unknown to them they were being watched by the native Maori. Furneaux ordered his second in command Edik to overlook setting up camp. Once the camp was set up and the whole crew had come ashore they drank and became merry celebrating the find of a new land. That night a Maori war band attacked thinking the white sailors were demons. Edik and his brother Alex fought bravely alongside the other men, beating the Maori back with their guns and swords. When the fight was over they had lost ten men. While the Maori had lost over thirty and then retreated.
Edik didn't sleep that night, he had a very bad feeling about this land and decided he would climb the cliff and watch over the camp and sea all night long. He hadn't been there very long when he heard a noise behind him, before he could even draw his dagger an animal attached it's jaws to his neck and Edik passed out. When he awoke he found himself in a cave on the beach, there were bones everywhere and weird symbols all over the cave walls. Edik gasped and made a run for the exit. As soon as the sunlight touched him, he felt unbearable pain and threw himself back into the cave. Panic took over Edik as he remembered sitting on the clifftop and getting attacked but nothing else from that point. He didn't understand how he couldn't go in the sunlight and was scared that what ever creatures lair he was in would come back soon and finish off it's meal. Edik walked back into the depths of the cave to await his fate.
What seemed like hours passed until he finally heard footsteps coming into the cave. Edik would of drawn a weapon but they had been removed by what ever creature was keeping him captive, so instead he laid down and pretented to be dead. Squinting through his eyelashes he saw that a women had entered the cave and was walking towards him. She touched his head lightly and Edik moved as fast as he could grabbing her by the wrist and pulling her to the floor. He climbed on top of her and looked down into her dark face, seeing she was a native he put his hand over her mouth and put a finger over his own lips to tell her to be silent. Her eyes widened with fear or anger he couldn't tell and a force from out of no where flung him like a rag doll across the cave.
Edik groaned and sat up on his knees, he watched as the native women began muttering something under her breath. She then rose to her feet and walked over to Edik, she smiled saying "Now I can talk like you" Edik's heart skipped a beat as he knew this was impossible. His crew were the first people as far as he knew to ever land on this new land. He began to sweat as he thought about the whole situation he had found himself in and decided something to do with magic was going on.
Breathing heavily Edik spoke, "My name is Edik Dragomir, who are you?" He asked not wishing for the women to come close to him. He was after all extreamly confused by this point. Nothing about this land made any sense to him so far. He just wanted to get back to his crew mates so that they could leave this cursed land for good.
The women smiled again trying to be friendly, "my name is Ahu which means "to look after." it's nice to meet you Edik. What are you and your people doing here in our land?" She asked looking at him a bit more seriously. She seemed very wise and motherly, the type of women who could catch you out lieing before you had even begun.
Edik sighed, "Ahu, I'm not sure why we are here, we were exploring in our ship and become lost from our comander who is in a different ship. We saw land and therefore landed and made camp on the beach. But all I want to do is get back to my crew and sail straight home for England." And that was the truth.
Ahu tapped her foot slightly as she began to think, "my partner is the man who put you in this cave..." she began and looked slightly worried. "He heard about the white man on the beach and about the battle which took place. He then decided to capture one of our enemies and turn him into a drinker of blood just to see what would happen. He must of drank your blood, then fed you his own blood and then killed you to make you what you are now. But I'm pretty sure he will kill you when he comes here next. Oh yes, because he changed you into a drinker of blood so you can no longer enter sunlight." She said with a touch of sadness in her eyes.
With lots of talking and fishing for clues Edik found out that her partner was a blood drinker like himself, but could infact walk in sunlight because of a whale bone ring that Ahu had made and enchanted for him. Edik begged and pleaded for his life, promising that if Ahu made Edik such a ring he would return to his crew and order them to pack up, return home and never come back to this land again. But if he didn't go and do this then more white men would come and there would be a big war in this land.
Ahu agreed to make him a ring so that he could do exactly what he had said, and she would just tell her partner that Edik had ran into the light out of fear and had been burned alive. She also told him, that in order for him to survive he would need to drink blood. Animal blood would keep him alive but human blood would be his biggest lust for eternity. An hour later she returned and Edik already found himself starving, she gave him the ring and thanking her Edik stepped out into the light and couldn't believe his luck when everything was normal. He thanked Ahu again and she sent him in the direction of his crew, a couple of miles down the coast.
It was night by the time Edik found his crew and the Full Moon lit up the beach, Alex ran over to him with a cry of joy. "Brother! we thought the natives had eatten you!" Alex said out of breath. Edik cracked him and brotherly smile, "nay little brother, we both know I'm too boney to make a decent meal out of." They laughed as Edik wondered over to the rest of the crew. He lied telling them that he had been scouting out the natives and that he'd seen a war party of about one thousand natives most likely getting ready to attack them tomorrow. Captain Furneaux listened to Edik and bit his lip, "Ok, you all heard that you bunch of lazy sod ridden excuses for soldiers! We're going to be out numbered ten to one tomorrow unless we pack up at the crack of dawn and get our sorry arses back on board the Adventure! Then we'll sail to England with news of our find!"
The crew cheered, stamped out their fires and went about going to sleep. Edik stayed up late with Alex and they talked all night. He told his brother what had really happened and they both sat by their fire staring up at the full moon and stars, wishing of nothing other then being back in London right that very second. When they wished each other good night and finally laid down in their blankets they were kept awake by the sounds of wolves howling. The rest of crew making no noise at all also seemed to have woken up to the sounds of the wolves.
Finally one sailer decided to speak, "Cap'in? those bloody wolves are freezing my bones, I grew up in the scottish highlands and I've never heard wolves like that in my life..." Edik felt a shiver run down his own spine as the sailer spoke. Alex nudged his brother, "Edik do you remember the story Father told us when we lived in Russia about the giant wolf?" Edik grunted, "there aint no such thing as giant wolves" and he gulped as he said it. Jumping out of his blankets Edik stared down the beach. "It can't be...." He said in shock. "What the bloody hell is it Edik! I don't see nuffin!" Captain Furneaux demanded.
Edik couldn't believe his own eyes, a whole pack of giant wolves were sprinting down the beach, kicking up sand everywhere. "Can you no see those wolves?" He whispered. Then everyone of the crew members jumped out of their beds and picked up their guns. Panic took over the camp as everyone started saying they couldn't see anything. But then the screams began, as did the gun shots.
It took only two or three minutes for the wolves to rip apart the whole crew including Alex. Edik tried his best to save his brother but three wolves pounced on him. Edik screamed in rage as the smell of human blood and wolf filled his nose. But before he knew it, he had sunk his own teeth into Captain Furneaux. The blood tasted so sweet and addictive as it gushed down his throat. Edik felt himself becoming stronger like he hadn't eaten for a whole month and somebody had just put a roast dinner infront of him. He ripped his head up from the mans neck and took in his surroundings. The wolves were eating the crew, but they had just realised a blood drinking vampire was now among them. One wolf howled and the rest went for Edik. He threw the first wolf off of his back before it could bite him and then ran like a madman, climbing cliffs and sprinting as fast as he could in any direction and somehow he managed to escape.
For about a year Edik ran around like an animal, feeding on what ever took his fancy. The Natives who had seen him refered to him as "The White Ghost" because none of them saw him for more then a second unless he decided they were dinner for the night. In 1775 Captain Cook landed in New Zealand but this time a whole fleet was anchored in the bay rather then just one ship. Thousands of English men took to the shores and set up camp. They warred with the Natives and Edik just watched, feeding when ever he felt like it. Until a very mad plan crept into Edik's head. He would make a crew of vampires, steal a battle ship and sail the seven seas forever. And that is what he did, not going into too much detail.
So for over 60 years he sailed the seas as a pirate named Captain Dragon. During all his sailing and sea battles, Edik found out he could have a slight sway over the weather if he concentrated hard enough. This basically made his ship uncatchable. During the day his crew would stay below deck, during the night they would land where ever they wanted all over the world, murdering and stealing. Until around the year of 1840 when Edik's ship attacked a ship traveling from Europe to America. They killed all of the would be settlers apart from one women "Katerina Petrova" She begged for her life at the feet of Edik and looking down upon her beauty he thought he saw something pure and decided to spare her. She stayed on the ship for almost a year, playing with Edik's heart and head. Trying to take the badness out of his heart, by showing him love so that eventually he would let her go. And what came as more of a shock was that she was a vampire like Edik. She told him storys of america and what she dreamed her life would be like there. She even managed to get Edik to believe that if he left his crew he and her could live together in a town somewhere, forever in love and forever in happiness. So Edik decided to set sail for America.
He told his crew that they were going to america to burn, kill and steal from the people settled there, but in truth he planned to run away from his own ship with Katerina Petrova. But unknown to Edik, Katerina had a stash of Revain hidden in her belongings and as America came into view she poured the whole crew glasses of wine and spiked them all with Revain.
Three, two, one and all the crew members started groaning and falling to their knees. Katerina laughed the whole time. Edik fell to his own knees and looked up at her "why?..." He asked holding his gut. "Because you were nothing but an obstical which I turned into a tool." She smiled and kissed him on the lips, then giggling like a girl smashed an oil lamp into the sails and leaped over board. Flames engulfed the ship and Edik dragged himself towards the side, he felt weak but the rest of the crew looked a lot weaker. He flung himself over the side and barely being able to swim just floated towards the shore, but Katerina was no where to be found.
From that day Edik has been in America, plotting his revenge, but changing his way of life as he does it. Katerina had infact taught him how to care again and some of the monster inside of him had been beaten back because of his love for Katerina. 170 years later, by pure chance Edik finds himself wondering into Mystic Falls where Katerina has become Catherine and Edik's life could start to turn very dramatic.
