abilities: Having not really discovered her abilities until about a year and a half ago, they are changing at a fast rate and she's not really sure she can handle it. She has the ability of telekinesis, but it seems to be only triggered when she's angry. As in, she'll get into a fight and suddenly things fly off the shelf, or something breaks. She happens to have a bit of ability as far as it comes to mediumwork, as she can hear spirits, and feel them. she can't see them, but tends to feel the pain of how they felt when they died. she's seen as a bit crazy because of that, and she thinks she's a little crazy because she hears voices in her head. she's also getting the hang of spellcasting, but-- she's no pro.

personality:
casey downes always has seemed a little off. her personality seems to be in sections, due to the medications she was taking as a child. she has very good positive attributes, but at the same time-- very negative attributes. for one, and this can be taken as good or bad. she always, and i mean always is looking at her surroundings. like an owl she watches everything within a five foot radius. it's not on purpose, and sometimes she doesn't even realize she's doing it. it's a strange thing, honestly. she tries to control it, but... whenever she's nervous, or upset, or startled... she looks at everything. analyzes everything. almost as if she's afraid that the one thing she doesn't see will kill her or worse. not that she actually thinks something is going to pop out and kill her. the doctors believe it's part of her brain protecting herself, due to the fact she used to hallucinate frequently as a child.
getting down to casey's core personality, she is really a sweet girl, driven by morals and a sense of loyalty. she claims the straightedge lifestyle which is a sober living lifestyle. she abstains from mind-altering drugs, and alcohol. she also abstains from casual sex, waiting for someone she really has a sense of attachment to before losing her virginity. yes, casey is still a virgin, and she really doesn't care. anyways, she's a very respectful, and tolerant person-- to an extent, but we'll get to that later. she's very passionate about music, and about the hardcore punk music scene- as it is where her roots are, even though the music she writes doesn't always coincide with that of punk music. with being born and raised in haverhill, massachusetts-- it's not strange to see her love of her hometown, and her hometown's music scene. her room is actually covered with old band fliers, ad whatnot. when it comes to friends ,and the like though. she's rather silent upon first meeting them. as she gets to know them more she becomes a bit of a chatterbox, and showing her slightly opinionated side. almost always she has an open ear to her friends, and is willing to give them advice to the best of her abilities.
unfortunately with any high positives, there have to be low negatives. in this case, our little girl is a loose cannon waiting to blow in anyone's face at anytime. she's quick to turn on people, and when she's angry and you try to stop her from getting into a fight-- you risk getting hit yourself. she believes almost anything her friends tell her. she's a firm believer in vengeance, and actually lost all faith in karma when her brother was murdered by a drug dealer. her strength comes from a long love/hate relationship with rage. she can't just simply calm down from an episode, she needs to let her emotions out somehow or someway-- and that's how she grew so attached to hardcore music, it was one way she could vent it out without purposefully hurting anyone else-- because more often than not people were in the same devastating mindset.
casey has a tolerance for almost everything--- except those who wrong her, her friends, and her family. at that point, the girl almost seems to lose control-- running off of rage and anger. which is actually why she moved. it was based off of a rumor casey had heard from one of her best friends who had called it truth. in a blind fit of hate, a fight broke out between her and a girl not much bigger than her. the girl ended up choking her from behind, and when kicks and elbows didn't work... she noticed the girl's mouth was open and reached in-- with all her mind she yanked as hard as she could until she heard bones crack. the girl's jaw was broken at the sides. the police kept her at the station, and ever since then-- her parents made her move to her aunt's place to get the 'help' that she needed.... and a change of pace.

history:
casey was born to a strange, yet amusing family. eric and alexia were a typical punk family-- the eighties was their era, meeting at a show in new york. later they moved to inner-city boston to get away from the crime, even though boston was no better. as they got their degrees they moved out to haverhill to raise their family. alexia owned a record store with a concert venue in the basement that soon became renown for it's shows. eric became a electrical technician and began to make a large amount of money. things seemed so perfect, raising two boys-- then finally having a girl whom they named casey jaye, after her grandmother. casey jaye boulivier. things seemed perfect, and for a while... they were.
everyone knows that saying though, nothing good can last. casey began to get ill when she hit four years old. she began screamign that 'bugs were everywhere'. she was hallucinating seeing them on her skin, and literally thought the house was infested with them. she wouldn't eat, couldn't sleep... they took her to the doctors, and some inexperienced physician decided to give her two different medications-- one treating her lack of sleep, another treating the hallucinations... instead of just taking care of the hallucinations. the drugs had a bad effect on the girl, and when she'd go for check ups-- they said "oh they'll go away." it wasn't until she had a physical when she was twelve that they said that casey should have never been given the two pills in the first place, and now all they could do was medicate the tremors that were most notable in her hands.
of course, things always got worse...
maybe they took to much for granted. school was going amazing, all of their children were getting top grades. andrew was straightedge and actively involved at shows... damien though? he suddenly got worse. he got into drugs in high school. durign his sophomore year, he decided to meet with a drug dealer after a concert in boston. telling his sister and brother he'd meet them at the parking lot. it was the last time they ever saw him alive. the 'dealer' though he was a cop, and decided to shoot him seven times. it was the hardest on casey, as darien was her closest brother. the family was in a state of shock, and casey decided to claim edge... because had it not been for drugs, her brother still would have been alive. from that point on... she hated druggies, and drug dealers. hated the drugs themselves.
the next big change didn't happen until she was fourteen. that was when her family began to feel the need to send their daughter away. casey had grown violent, and therapy wasn't helping. she hadn't dealt with her problems, just masked them at shows. one of her friends, just to see how she would react... told her that a girl whom she'd had prior issues with, was making fun of her brother's death. at that point the pint-sized girl couldn't handle it; she saw red. blindly, she threw the first punch. calling the girl every name in the book. as the girl began to choke her, she elbowed, kicked... did everything in her power.
as the girl began to laugh, casey glanced to the side, knowing the girl's mouth was open. instead of trying to pry the girl's arms off of her, she grabbed the girl's jaw, her teeth and chin. she pulled down and out with all her might. when she heard the cracks, and then the scream... the girl let go almost instantaneously. people were mortified... did that little girl just rip someone's jaw out? yes, yes she did. the police came, and took her down to the station. that's when someone brought forth a video tape. showing exactly what happened. when a therapist was brought in, they claimed she had acute post traumatic stress disorder... her parents in a last ditch effort to make things better for their daughter sent her to stay with her uncle. that hopefully things would calm down for her.
after attending the school for a year, things began to change. she began developing abilities. well, when her aunt found out she was more the enthused, as the abilities stemmed down from her mother's side of the family. so since then, she's been working with them and starting her own acoustic music project, and things are seeming to get better.

role play sample:
everything around casey felt muted recently, as if she was blaring music and then it suddenly cut out. that stillness... it swallowed the redhead whole. briefly going to boston didn't help, because she found her brother was going to jail for murder. everything was spinning out of control, and she desperately sought stability. something she just couldn't find, then again... it was hard to find something that important whilst everyone was going through their own shit. maybe she was just growing up, but she felt out of sync with the world. it was awkward, and left her feeling cold despite the warm temperatures.
the space cadets, as much as she loved them-- weren't good with helping others out mentally, granted... she hadn't exactly been open, but it was quite hard for the girl to speak out on the touchiest subjects in her life. the girl looked out, it was raining-- grey clouds made it so the sun didn't even look like it was there. they were bracing for a hurricane, and it seemed like a maddening thought for little casey to go out in weather such as this, but she did. her emerald eyes glancing around as she exited the large apartment complex. she had been attacked verbally many a time for residing in such a place, but honestly? the girl liked it. it reminded her of home, and that was what she needed right now. some sort of comfort.
as she walked in the rain, the space cadet found why exactly she felt this way. glancing from person, to person-- they all seemed so blank, and it reminded her of school. it seemed like not even a week after, everyone was all ready over it. like no one ever died. jackie began sleeping around, and nothing changed. not even her own clique, whom alex was member of-- really seemed to care. it made her wonder why she was even here. people were just greedy, after all. if it didn't concern them, they didn't give a shit-- or they'd be the ones to say "get over it". maybe it was because casey felt like he was a brother to her, but... she couldn't shake this feeling of sadness. she needed someone, but... everyone was preoccupied. be it with school, relationships, or drama.
in all actuality she was delusional, people had offered her help time and time again but she didn't have the courage to ask. now she was suffering for her actions. she still had oppurtunity to get help, but she lacked the will to see it. as she glanced up, not realizing where she had gone-- the bright haired girl ended up at a starbucks. smiling a bit, she went inside, removing the hood from shielding her straightened hair. as she ordered a hot chocolate, she glanced around for a familiar face. vanity, jackie, mary, jags-- maybe even maxi... nope. no one from her school was here, shockingly. actually, it wasn't that marvelling, it was gross out. no one should go out in this weather, and here casey was.
taking a seat by one of the windows, she absentmindedly flipped through a magazine-- her mind was completely elsewhere-- but, she looked somewhat happy. it was the mask she used to get through each day.
