history: Divine was a bit of a wild child growing up. It was hard to pin her down because even with her lax attitude in school, she pulled good grades, and surprisingly kept with her education enough to get a masters in Philosophy. Her wildness comes from the fact that she was a very impulsive individual and a frequent runaway; hitchhiking and busing to events around the states on a whim.
Her childhood was very rough as her father was a drunk abusive husband and father with a mother who hid the abuse both visited on her and her children. While Danny was the one to jump in as head of the household, Divine kept going as she was which caused a rift in the familial relationship she has with her sibling.
When she was 16 her father died from a spill down the stairs. Divine has never cared or cried about her fathers death and still hates him for the life they had. After he died it was hard for their mother to go on since she was used to the behavior and Danny had been recruited the summer of that year which forced Divine to take care of her mother AND juggle school.
One day, when Divine as 18, after coming home from school, Divine found her mother nearly unconscious after trying to commit suicide. Her reason was that she wanted to be with her husband. After 3 more attempts, Mrs. Parker was committed to a home where she remains now in North Carolina.
Divine continued to travel and keep up her education. When she graduated her gift to herself was taking a trip to a place she’d blindly picked out on a map; that place was Mystic Falls. She’s now been at the Falls for 2 years and is working at The Grill as a bartender. She is intrigued by the dynamics of Mystic Falls and its inhabitants and thinks, it’s humorous and exciting to live in a place where people still believe in the past heresies of witches, vampires and other supernatural beings that make up the horror stories of foundation days that kids thrive off of, on dark and stormy nights.
