I‘M MORE THAN READY TO SEE IT GONE AND I AM THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN SET MYSELF FREE SO I‘M TAKIN OFF THIS PAIN YOU PUT ON ME The only sound that echoed through the alley was the click of her stiletto boots hitting the pavement beneath them. It was pitch black, roughly after midnight, for most girls her age, it probably wasn't a good idea to be walking around at night, especially with the knowledge she knew. She was clothed completely in black, her outfit hugged her body, showing off her curves, and she left her brunette hair hanging down and around her shoulders. She stopped in the middle of the alley, straining her ears to hear any sound, she closed her eyes and tried to relax when she heard the sound of footsteps behind her, she turned quickly and glared at the vampire who had decided to show up. "Shall we dance?" she asked raising her weapon of choice and charging at him. She didn't really pay attention to his size, she just went by instinct, hitting what she felt was a weak spot. This went on for awhile before he ran off, she narrowed her eyes angrily after him, but she knew this would be a bad time to follow him, she quickly turned and continued down the alley, soon coming out to the beginning of the street, she stood under one of the lamp posts for a moment when she felt something warm running down her arm. She sighed softly, not really wanting to go to the hospital and have it stitched up, she looked around for something that would help slow the bleeding but saw nothing, she grumbled softly then began walking back towards the apartment she was staying in.
Evenutally she began to get dizzy, which she knew wasn't good, she began looking around for somewhere to sit, the first thing she noticed was the park, it would have benches, but she worried about bumping into another vampire, she wouldn't be able to defend herself well if she were attacked. Sighing she decided she needed to sit, and made her way over slowly. She pulled off her sweater as soon as she sat down and quickly teared off a strip of the fabric and wrapped it around the wound. She tied it as tightly as she could, wincing slightly at the pain, she looked around, trying to be sure no one could see her, at least not anyone she would be at a risk from. She looked up for a moment and noticed a figure coming towards her, she grabbed a dagger out from her boot and held it behind her back, just in case she needed to defend herself. She rose quickly to her feet, glaring at the person as they neared her, once he was close enough to her she realized he was human, and she hid the dagger under her shirt by tucking it through her belt.
Rising to her feet had been a bad idea on her part, she began to lose her balance, and fell forward slightly, she was able to catch herself but just barely. "I'm sorry I seem to have scratched my arm..." she mumbled to the stranger, trying to pull her innocent young girl routine. She remained standing, and watching him silently, wondering what he was going to say or do. "I'll just head back to my apartment..." she said with a light smile and began to attempt to walk away, she wondered what the young man would do.

SO WHAT IF YOU CAN SEE THE DARKEST SIDE OF ME.[ n o o n e w i l l e v e r c h a n g e t h i s a n i m a l I h a v e b e c o m e ] He really should stop forming this habit of being out late like this. Especially when he had already been warned by both Rachel and Dakota not to stay out late while he was alone. Although they had not been specific, they were both sure that something bad was going to happen to him if he didn’t take their advice and actually be careful. It’s not that he didn’t care, he did but he didn’t exactly want to act all paranoid and such all because of a hunch. He get that it was better safe than sorry but really? What in the world could happen to someone like him? What would be worse in getting yourself and your best friend in an accident and ending up killing her? Isaiah didn’t think there was anything worse than that.
Maybe he was just tempting fate or something. Daring it to give it its best shot at him because honestly, he didn’t think there was anything worse than what he had been through and was trying to get over with. He got his best friend killed all because he hadn’t been the responsible one. Isaiah sighed softly at his thoughts. This was no way to end the celebration of his twenty-sixth birthday. He was on his way back to sulking and moping and blaming himself for what had happened. Over and over they told him that it had been an accident. Now that was something he just couldn’t accept because he knew that he could have dome something to prevent it. He should have done something to prevent it. That was what was eating him alive. He already knew it. Already aware of what could happen but he didn’t think any of it. He thought that he could take them safely home and he didn’t. And now he was suffering the consequences of his actions.
He pressed his lips as he stuffed his hands inside his jacket pockets. If only Scarlet had been alive, he was sure that she would have thrown him a huge party. He would have been surprised and he was sure that he’d be back home still celebrating it with the friends and family. He had gotten a bunch of phone calls this morning from friends and family back home. And earlier that night he just had dinner with a few of his new found friends and a few drinks with his old one. It didn’t hurt that Dakota moved here. At least he had someone he really knew. Together with Rachel, they had stayed having a few drinks and laughs over random things. At least that took his mind off depressing things. But now he was alone again. And all his mind could do was sulk and embrace the inevitable.
Isaiah sighed softly as he continued to walk. He didn’t even realize he had taken the route through the park until his eyes spotted a lone figure sitting on a bench. He hesitated for a moment because he didn’t want to scare the figure as he approached but he didn’t have any choice. The path that would lead him home was in the direction where she was. As he neared her, he couldn’t help but knit his brows. Something was off but he couldn’t put his finger on it. Maybe this was what Dakota and Rachel warned him about. But than again, what could this chick possibly do to him? He towered her good in height. Or at least that was what he thought and figured out.
He decided to just leave her alone and just pass her by so that no mishap will happen. But when she stood up as he neared her and lost her balance, his instincts shot up and made him pull his hands out from his jacket pockets and hurry his way to her. ”Whoa, hey… take it easy miss.” He told her gently as his eyes landed on what seemed to be a wound she had recently covered. Nice handiwork if he could say. It looked like she had done this a lot. Or maybe he was just reading too much into this.
"I'm sorry I seem to have scratched my arm..."
Hazel-colored eyes tore away from her bandaged wound and settled on her face. ”Anything I can do to help?” He couldn’t resist offering her.
"I'll just head back to my apartment..."
As soon as she moved forward, he too took a step forward following her. ”Maybe you shouldn’t walk home by yourself.” He suggested as he followed her but made sure he kept his distance and not make her feel like he was invading her personal space. ”I mean I can walk you home if that’s okay with you.” He added before giving her a soft dimpled smile. What? His puppy dog look always seemed to work. Why not try it with this one? It wasn’t like he was up to no good or anything. All he wanted to do was to help her out and that was it. No harm, no foul.

I‘M MORE THAN READY TO SEE IT GONE AND I AM THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN SET MYSELF FREE SO I‘M TAKIN OFF THIS PAIN YOU PUT ON ME
Sometimes working alone against vampires, wasn’t really her thing, she wished it had been like it had been for her parents she had someone at her side, someone to help her and take on some of the struggle as well. Her arm didn’t really hurt as she tied the fabric around it, it didn’t sting or throb but she knew it should hurt, it should sting, it would bruise, and the incision would scab up but as she made her way to the park she felt no pain, but loneliness. She knew after sitting down that it had been a bad choice, she should have kept walking, kept moving to keep herself awake all she wanted to do now was close her eyes and rest for a little while, but that would be troublesome, especially if there were other vampires lurking around, if she fell asleep she would make a delicious snack to them.
She looked up at the night sky, there were after all a few clouds, but it wasn’t too cold out, and it certainly didn’t feel like it may rain. She watched the stars for a moment, thinking of Connor, she wondered what he was up to. She hadn’t seen him since that night, but she was still innocently curious about the man. Her eyes began to droop closed, and she fought against it, but it seemed she was getting more and more tired. It wasn’t until she saw the other figure heading towards her that she felt the need to jump up in case she needed to defend herself. When she realized it was just a human boy she relaxed, which was probably why she wound up losing her balance, she never really expected him to catch her, she had fully intended on catching her own balance and just walking away.
She looked at him curiously as he asked if there was anything he could do to help, she had gotten so used to being on her own that an offer of help coming from someone she didn’t know seemed a little bit weird to her. She gave him a soft smile, she wasn’t trying to flirt, she was genuinely trying to be kind to him, not that she was used to being kind to people, usually she was either a bitch to girls, or a major flirt with guys, so she had no idea why she was being genuine with this man. “I don’t want to cause any trouble for you. It would be best if I saw someone who knew how to do stitches, but I can’t go to the hospital.” She explained with a shrug, wincing as the pain in her arm finally began to make its appearance.
She rose and began heading in the direction of her apartment when she heard his comment, and as she turned to face him she realized he was already following her and she couldn’t help but smile. “Perhaps you are right and I shouldn’t be but then again I don’t think you really want to walk four blocks to my apartment then have to come back here.” She replied a hint of a smile on her lips. When he offered to walk her home, a hint of a blush rose on her cheeks and she looked down on the ground, not really sure how to reply to him. “That would be fine with me I suppose, I just don’t want to cause trouble for you.” She answered looking up at him, resisting the urge to smile at his puppy dog look. Considering she was still injured, she was enjoying his company, just having him near her brought her comfort, it made her think of her brother and she sighed softly.
She began walking in the direction of her apartment; she couldn’t help but glance up at the stranger walking next to her. She felt curious, but didn’t want to ask anything out of order. She assumed he was a human, no vampire would have stopped to try and help her while she was injured, and they would have taken advantage of that fact and drained her on the spot. She studied him silently, it wasn't until he looked back at her that she realzied she was staring and she blushed and quickly looked away. "Thanks for this." she said softly.

SO WHAT IF YOU CAN SEE THE DARKEST SIDE OF ME.[ n o o n e w i l l e v e r c h a n g e t h i s a n i m a l I h a v e b e c o m e ] “I don’t want to cause any trouble for you. It would be best if I saw someone who knew how to do stitches, but I can’t go to the hospital.”
He wasn’t sure if he wanted to call it her lucky night or something because honestly he was wondering how in the world did she cut herself deep enough to have the need for stitches? Surely she wasn’t that clumsy. But then again, she was a complete and total stranger. He of all people should not judge anyone because he was sure as hell that he didn’t want her to be judging him when she didn’t even know him.
”You’re actually looking at one.” He couldn’t help but let her know that he in fact knew how to do stitches. He can do minor ones it came with the job actually. Now the question was, would she have the items he would need to do the said task? If she did, he knew for sure that that idea alone would raise a whole lot of questions inside his head. Now the question would be if he would have the courage to ask her about it? Oh God. He hoped he wasn’t trying to extend a helping hand to some sort of fugitive or something. Looking at her, she didn’t look like one though although of course looks can really be deceiving some times.
“Perhaps you are right and I shouldn’t be but then again I don’t think you really want to walk four blocks to my apartment then have to come back here.”
Isaiah figured to throw a dimpled smile at her direction. Not that he can give anything else. It was just something that he was born with and it was something that he couldn’t really stop giving even if he wanted to. Of course never in his life that he complained about it. Most of the time it worked in his advantage. Not that he did something like that on purpose especially right at that moment. He shrugged his shoulder slightly.
”It’s not a problem. Besides, I think we’ll be heading the same direction anyway.” He replied back to her softly. And that was the truth he spoke of. Her way was the same as his of course they probably be separating somewhere eventually if he was going to go his own way she her own way. So he tried pushing his luck by suggesting that he should walk her home just to be on the safe side. Whether she agreed or not with the idea, it was entirely up to her.
“That would be fine with me I suppose, I just don’t want to cause trouble for you.”
He huffed out softly and shook his head. ”It’s not a problem and it’s certainly not trouble for me. Trust me.” He replied back to her before he finally moved forward and followed her in the direction when she started to walk.
For a moment, he stayed quiet and walked side by side with her. His mind raced a mile a minute wondering if this was actually a good idea or not. Not that he could really pin her to be some form of psycho killer on the loose. She didn’t look like one and although he really shouldn’t base anything with appearance, he didn’t want to come off as someone who was seriously paranoid over something that might turn out to be nothing. Looking back at her, he noticed that she was staring at him. Well, it was either she was staring or studying him. When she looked away, he had to fight the strong urge to smile. He found it cute the way she responded to him for some reason.
"Thanks for this."
”It’s not a problem.” He replied softly back to her. ”I’m just glad I could be of help to someone.” He added tossing her a quick glance before turning to settle his eyes at the path they were currently taking.
”Name’s Isaiah. Ice for short. I live with my grandmother not far from here just in case that’ll help with you feeling secure or anything. I can give you our landline if you want to confirm.” He offered to her before giving her another smile.

I‘M MORE THAN READY TO SEE IT GONE AND I AM THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN SET MYSELF FREE SO I‘M TAKIN OFF THIS PAIN YOU PUT ON ME
"You're actually looking at one"
Daphne wasn't sure what to say, she studied him silently her mind trying to understand. What were the chances that she had met someone who had useful knowledge with first aid. She smiled softly. "How do you know how to do stitches?" she asked. She was genuinely curious about the guy who seemingly was coming to save her for lack of a better explanation. She did feel wary though, she was interested that he could help her, but he was a total stranger so she was cautious.
She was glad she didnt have to attempt to do the stitches herself, which ment more than likely this could would heal better than any of the others she has recieved. She knew his mind was probably racing with questions, and her mind was racing, trying to create a story to tell him. He seemed like a really good guy, she didnt feel threatened by him, on the contrary she felt comfortable with him she knew he wasn't going to attack and try to kill her. She began to wonder if it would be so hard to tell him the truth, then she remembered that to most people vampires didnt exist, he would think she were crazy.
"Its not a problem. Besides I think we'll be heading the same direction anyway."
Daphne couldn't help but wonder how many hearts the man in front of her had managed to capture with that smile. She quickly shook the thought from her mind, but she still couldnt help but to admit he was good looking and maybe she was just a little attracted but she knew how she was and he didn't seem like that kind of guy. Daphne tucked a stray piece of hair behind her ear and looked up at him a soft smile on her lips. "Does that work with all the girls?" she teased laughing softly.
She smiled and nodded, for some reason she kenw he wouldnt change his mind about walking her home. She didn't even know the guy, so why was she assuming anything? She sighed softly deciding to try and end her thoughts as quickly as they surfaced. "Well since you're going my way then I wont protest any longer." she said with a soft chuckle. She closed her eyes for just a moment and she felt herself leaning foreward, she quickyl righted herself and re-opened her eyes knowing she needed to get home soon.
"It's not a problem and it's certainly not trouble for me. Trust me."
She laughed as she began walking, she could hear as he followed behind her. She realized she had made a mistake earlier in assuming he was a vampire, she could clearly hear his footsteps as he walked. She laughed at herself, she felt fairly stupid for not paying attention.
Why did she look away so quickly? Hell, what was wrong with her? She was always so bold, she rarely got embarassed there was never any reason for her to feel embarassed. She decided to keep her eyes directed straight ahead, she wouldn't look at him unless it was absolutely necessary for her to do so. "So are you a doctor or something?" she asked keeping her eyes trained straight ahead of her. She began to wonder why he was out walking around so late at night, he wasn't a hunter that much she was sure of. She kenw he probably had crazy ideas about her running through his head, hell she would to, especially if she were in his shoes. She sighed softly, not caring if he heard her or not. The pain in her arm had lessened, even if just a tiny bit.
"Its not a problem. I'm just glad I could be of help to someone."
She felt his glance but she kept her eyes straight foreward, a small smirk settling on her lips. "I am sure you are of help to many people and not just me. Besides I feel pretty lucky that you crossed my path, this will be too hard to stitch myself." she said with a small laugh.
"Names Isaiah. Ice for short. I live with my grandmother not far from here just in case that'll help with you feeling secure or anything. I can give you our landline if you want to confirm."
Daphne couldn't help but laugh softly. "No thank you, its so late, and I would hate to wake your grandmother for something so silly." she replied looking up at him. It wasn't till then that she realized how tall he was. Shaking her head she looked up and saw her house. "There it is." she murmured quickening her pace till she was at the front door unlocking it. "My name is Daphne, by the way," she added with a soft smile.

SO WHAT IF YOU CAN SEE THE DARKEST SIDE OF ME.[ n o o n e w i l l e v e r c h a n g e t h i s a n i m a l I h a v e b e c o m e ] "How do you know how to do stitches?"
Ah maybe he should have said that he was a registered nurse after he had said that he knew how to do stitches. That would have saved her the trouble of asking and wondering. But for some odd reason, instead of saying out right the he was a qualified nurse, he didn’t. Why in the world he picked tonight to play mysterious was beyond him. ”It’s just a talent I was able to acquire.” He replied back to her. Oh he was able to acquire alright. During college and his internship. If Dakota had been around he was sure the older guy would have given him ‘an are you kidding me’ look or ‘could you be more lame’ look. Either way, Isaiah was sure that it was between the two. He just hoped the girl didn’t look at him like he was some sort of psycho killer or something.
"Does that work with all the girls?"
At the question, the twenty-six year old couldn’t help but slightly knit his brows as he looked at her. ”I seriously have no idea what you’re talking about.” He replied back to her. He could honestly feel the heat rise up his neck and make a trail higher up to his cheeks. Oh God. Had he done something to embarrass himself in her presence? What had he done anyway to make her ask such a question? He wasn’t trying to impress her right? Okay maybe he was trying to do that slightly. Hey, can you really blame him? She wasn’t bad to look at. Hell she was someone who fell under his hot list if he ever had one that is. Way to go Isaiah. He couldn’t help but silently tell himself.
When she finally agreed on the idea of him walking her home, that brought a slight sigh of relief on his part. At least she hadn’t concluded that he was some sort of weirdo that happened to cross her way. And truth of the matter was she really didn’t have to worry about him or his intentions. He just really wanted to help her out. But then again, he didn’t know her that wall. What if it was the other way around? What if she was the one whom he needed to be wary about? That idea was not impossible. But then again, he was way bigger than her. Even if she tried something, he could actually do something about it and defend himself. Realizing that he was getting way ahead of himself, he forced those ugly thoughts out of his mind. The idea was crazy. He really should stop being so damn paranoid.
"So are you a doctor or something?"
Isaiah chuckled softly as he shook his head. It was high time that he came clean with her before she herself begin to get paranoid thoughts about him. ”No. I just help the doctors.” He replied back to her. ”I’m a nurse. At least back in Dallas.” He added finally telling the truth to her. There was no use in hiding that fact anyway. It wasn’t like he wasn’t proud of his chosen career. He was. And if he could help people using his career then so be it. Actually he couldn’t help but tell her that as well just so she would know that he just wanted to help her out. Especially with her condition. He even made sure he told her a little bit of background about himself in case she was still wondering. Hey, it was better safe than sorry.
"No thank you, its so late, and I would hate to wake your grandmother for something so silly."
He smiled and nodded. ”Fair enough but let me know if you changed your mind.” He replied back to her letting her know that the offer still stood if she wanted to take it.
It didn’t take them long before she told him they were there. The sooner he tended to her cut the better.
"My name is Daphne, by the way,"
The twenty-six year old smiled back at her. ”Nice to meet you Daphne. Although of course I wish we met under different circumstances.” He replied back to her softly as he waited for her to open her door and invite him in.

I‘M MORE THAN READY TO SEE IT GONE AND I AM THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN SET MYSELF FREE SO I‘M TAKIN OFF THIS PAIN YOU PUT ON ME
”It’s just a talent I was able to acquire.”
The night certainly hadn’t gone the way she had planned at all, not only had the vampire she had been tracking for the last month or so gotten away from her, but she was the one who had resulted with the injury in the end, then as a bonus some human guy who was really attractive happened to find her at a park. She sighed softly, wondering if she would EVER have a normal night in her life that didn’t consist of weird things happening, unfortunately it was a known fact that it would never happen. Daphne laughed softly at his reply to her question and just looked up to him, her eyes showing quite clearly her curiosity of him. “Well I suppose that would be quite the talent to have, I’m almost jealous.” She said with a hint of a smile. It wasn’t that she couldn’t do stitches, she could do them, she just couldn’t do them very well on herself.
”I seriously have no idea what you’re talking about.”
She couldn’t help but notice the redness of his skin as the blush crept up on him; she scolded herself mentally as she realized it made him look cute. She sighed softly, knowing she wasn’t really allowed to develop an interest in anyone, the life she lived just wasn’t going to be accepted by just anyone, and it certainly wouldn’t be accepted easily. “Oh never mind… I tend to speak my thoughts out loud and they wont always make sense.” She said aiming a cautious smile his way. She couldn’t help but wonder what it would be like to be attracted to someone and actually be able to act on that attraction, she allowed her mind to drift off for a moment, feeling nice while able to pretend she were a normal twenty-one year old woman.
Her mind began wheeling around with questions; if he were living in this area did he know all the local legends? Did he know about vampires and witches and werewolves? Or was she going crazy, because even the idea of a human knowing about these three supernatural beings was crazy, most of them were smart enough to hide who and what they were unless they were planning on killing you, then they would tell you only because in the end it wouldn’t matter you wouldn’t be able to get away and tell anyone. Then another though crossed her mind, was he some creepy guy who came after girls who looked alone and did stuff to them… perhaps she had watched too many murder shows and she was getting the wrong idea, after all even if he had tried forcing himself on to her it wouldn’t have done anything, she may be wounded but she could still fight if she needed to. Shaking her head she took a deep breathe and pushed those thoughts away, she didn’t feel threatened by him so she wasn’t going to worry about anything that seemed unrealistic… at least unrealistic to her.
”No. I just help the doctors. I’m a nurse. At least back in Dallas.”
A small laugh came through her lips, it was the first real laugh she had, had in a long time. “My Father was a nurse once upon a time.” She said softly. “My Mother always said the nurses were always a lot better looking than the doctors. I see my mother spoke some truth.” She added with a shy smile as she looked up at him. Her parents had been dead for a few years now, and she rarely talked about them, willingly. She blamed herself for what had happened… she hadn’t been paying attention and they had suffered for her mistake. Sighing softly she listened to him talk, she liked the sound of his voice and she wanted him to keep talking, but eventually he stopped and she couldn’t help but feel a little let down about it.
”Fair enough but let me know if you change your mind.”
Daphne smiled and gave him a wink. “Don’t be surprised if I take your number just so I can give you a call to go get a drink sometime.” She explained with a laugh. She normally wasn’t so forward but she figured why not take a chance, after all who knew it could turn into something interesting.
”Nice to meet you Daphne. Although of course I wish we met under different circumstances.”
She had just opened her mouth to reply when she noticed the figure behind him, her eyes narrowed as she took a step towards him, pushing him lightly to the side. ‘I am stupid… I should have realized it would have followed me.’ She thought to herself looking up at Isaiah. She didn’t know what to do… she could kill this thing then tell him the truth about her injury or she could get in the house and think of a way to keep him with her for the rest of the night… sighing she quickly turned to unlock the door, and once it was open she stepped through and grabbed his hand pulling him in as well. “Its not much… but its home.” She said with a smile.

SO WHAT IF YOU CAN SEE THE DARKEST SIDE OF ME.[ n o o n e w i l l e v e r c h a n g e t h i s a n i m a l I h a v e b e c o m e ] “My Father was a nurse once upon a time.”
Ah, a common ground for the both of them. At least they could talk about that later when he was stitching her up. Something to get her mind off the pain that he was sure she would be feeling soon.
“My Mother always said the nurses were always a lot better looking than the doctors. I see my mother spoke some truth.”
His train of thought derailed instantly. Hazel colored eyes looked at her feeling that oh so familiar warmth creep up his neck and trail up again his cheeks again. What was with this chick and making him blush? This was the second time that she did this without any effort at all. But instead of saying something about it, Isaiah chickened out and just changed the subject. Something that was more general other than the fact that she had practically told him indirectly that he was somehow better looking. If only he was actually good at taking compliments then everything would just be fine and dandy. Truth of the matter was, he wasn’t. He easily blushed like a damn school girl and he seemed to fumble for words. He would always end up changing the subject like what he did a moment ago.
“Don’t be surprised if I take your number just so I can give you a call to go get a drink sometime.”
Isaiah huffed and shrugged. ”I don’t mind. Besides, I need someone else to hang out with aside from Koda. A friend of mine. Actually, he’s more like a brother than anything else.” He revealed.
When they reached her place he honestly felt relief. At least they were already there and it wouldn’t be long before he would be able to help patch her up. But when she took a step forward and pushed his lightly to the side, the twenty-six year old knitted his brows slightly. He was about to ask if everything was alright when she turned around, unlocked the door and practically pulled him inside.
“Its not much… but its home.”
For a moment he honestly thought she would change her mind. In return, he threw a smile at her direction. ”I am not one to judge so don’t worry about it.” He replied back to her before he moved further into her place. ”Okay so first things first. Do you have a first aid kit?” He asked not wasting anytime. The quicker he stitched her up the better. Besides, he didn’t want her cut to get worse and get an infection. Not to mention the loss of blood.
