Jeremy Gilbert has a unique personality. Jeremy is brave, courageous, loyal, and daring. He is always willing to help someone no matter what, he is always there for his friends, he stands up for anyone who needs it, he can’t stand people who mistreat others and who think they are better than everyone else, and he always accepts any challenge no matter how dangerous it might be. He also has intelligence; Jeremy has a good head when he is in a fight. He constantly thinks of situations and what might lead to where if he chose a certain path. He is often told that he overthinks things. Jeremy has a big heart as well. He always wants to help people no matter what. He loves reading and writing.
Jeremy has a lot of good qualities but he also has his flaws. He doesn’t like flying. He will not get on a plane and fly he would rather drive. Jeremy has ocd bad so everything has to be in order and he has to sit in an even number desk. He can’t do anything if there is an odd number that just messes with his head. Everything is neat and in order and it drives his friends, sibling, cousins, and parents crazy. He has a temper as well. He has a bad temper. He can’t stand it when others mistreat others, especially younger kids, so he might end up losing his temper. He has a short fuse when it comes to his temper so he can lose it over something small. His sister hates that and constantly tells him he needs to learn to control it better.

Jeremy Andrew Gilbert was born on November 9th, 1994 to the parents of Grayson and Miranda Gilbert. He was the youngest child as he had an older sister, Elena Gilbert. Growing up his family was always close. His parent’s had a lake house that they went to a lot during the summers. Jeremy was always excellent in school after the first grade as it started to get harder and harder but he prevailed. He started to learn how to draw and he loved it. He used to run around the house all the time saying how he was going to become an artist when he grew up. Growing up Jeremy never had a lot of friends. He was always the loner type. He rather just sits by himself on the ground and draw or write. He just felt so much peace when he was either drawing or writing. As he got older he got into listening to music while he drew or write, it drove his parent’s nuts sometimes because they would come in start talking to him and he wouldn’t hear a single word they said because he had headphones on.
One day though everything changed and not for the better. Jeremy’s parents went to go pick up Elena at a party and they ended up running off Wickery Bridge. Jeremy lost both his parent’s that day but he got to keep his sister. His Aunt Jenna came back to town and started staying with them as their guardian. Jeremy took his parents death hard and started drinking and doing drugs. It was his coping mechanism. A whole summer went by after the loss of his parents. He wasn’t looking forward to the oncoming school year and too soon it was here. On the first day there was talk of a new student name Stefan Salvatore but Jeremy didn’t care. Elena kept bugging him though to quit the drugs and drinking after she finally caught him one day with the stoners. Shortly after that he started dating Vicki Donovan, and she became Jeremy’s first sexual partner. It ended after the summer which Jeremy wasn’t happy about because he cared about Vicki.
Jeremy soon found Vicki alone and cold in the woods. She looked dead and in fact Damon Salvatore had feed from her, feed her his blood, and then killed her which triggered the vampire transformation. She accidently tried to kill Jeremy and Stefan staked her. Jeremy was starting to learn about the supernatural when Elena had Damon compel him to forget Vicki’s death. The new history teacher Alaric gets Jeremy to write a paper to improve his grade. He decided to write about vampires in Mystic Falls back in the old days, whether or not it was myth or fact. While in the library doing research for his paper he met a new girl in town name Anna. They start to hang out and one day Jeremy kisses her. He notices her face change but she claimed it was nothing. Curious Jeremy searched vampires online and after careful planning invites Anna over for dinner. He cuts his hand on purpose and taunts her with his blood, which Anna drinks after a while until Jenna comes home then leaves. Jeremy was in his room when she came back and confronted him about why he had confronted her on being a vampire. Jeremy tells Anna that he wants to become one.
Jeremy starts dating Anna and after her mother’s death she gives him her blood to drink to become a vampire. He tells Anna that he can’t become one and leave town because his sister needs him. When Jeremy is at the Mystic Grill Anna finds him and tries to keep him safe since the tomb vampires wants to kill him. The Gilbert device goes off and Anna reacts to it. Cops come and take her away and make Jeremy go home. Damon soon comes over and tells Jeremy that Anna is dead. He tells Jeremy that he can take away the memories like he did for Vicki. Jeremy tells Damon that he doesn’t want that because he has a hole in his heart and he doesn’t remember why and he doesn’t want to live like that.
Jeremy drinks Anna’s blood and then takes Elena’s pills that were given to her after the care accident. Jeremy doesn’t take enough though and ends up failing becoming a vampire. Jeremy’s Uncle John gives him his ring before leaving town. Jeremy is killed by Damon because Damon was pissed that Elena rejected him. The ring that his Uncle John gave him brings him back though. Pissed that Damon tried to kill him Jeremy goes to Damon’s house and spikes his alcohol. He has a wooden stake in his hand and tells Damon he is going to kill him but then decides not to as that wouldn’t solve anything.

It was late and he couldn’t get to sleep. He tried to sleep, he honestly did. An hour earlier he had lay down in his bed, stretched out, then put his arms behind his head, and tried to drift off to sleep. He was tired, he couldn’t keep his eyes open long enough to finish his homework. He would have to finish it before going to school in the morning. So he laid there in bed and tried to go to sleep. He honestly tried; he laid there tossing and turning with his eyes closed trying to sleep. The minutes passed by slowly it seemed and he had thought he had been laying there for hours but he turned and looked at his clock as he slowly opened his eyes again and saw that he had only been lying there for one hour. Sighing he slowly got up and ran a hand through his hair. He had stayed up later than Elena had trying to finish his homework.
He looked at the clock again to see exactly what time it was. The clock flashed 2:30. 2:30 in the morning; he sighed again and rubbed his face. He needed to sleep. He had school tomorrow and then a long shift at the Grill. Sleep was vital right now. He got up and went downstairs. The place was like a ghost town; eerie, dark, and quiet. He flipped on the kitchen light and rumbled through the fridge looking for a mid-night snack. After a couple minutes he pulled some stuff out of the fridge and made himself a sandwich. He fixed himself a glass of milk to go with his sandwich. He took a bite and sighed. He knew this wouldn’t help him sleep and he wondered if he should get back on his homework since he couldn’t sleep at all. He knew he would be falling asleep during his classes in the morning that was for sure.
He continued sitting at the island counter in the kitchen eating his sandwich. Now that Elena was a vampire her senses were heightened so he was trying to be extra quiet. He didn’t want to wake her up. She had already been through enough, too much in his mind. He wished he could keep her from everything that had happened to her. She was his sister and he cared about her deeply. Even though he was the younger sibling he was the brother and he wanted to protect her. He sighed and got up grabbing his book bag from the kitchen table where he had left it. He went back to the island counter and sat down on the stool. He pulled out his history textbook and notebook and went about finishing the paper he had due tomorrow.
