Stefan couldn't believe he had done this. He had let Anna talk him into packing a couple of suitcases and taking off for New York to get his bloodlust under control, which was how he had found himself wandering the streets, doing his best to avoid the crowds. This was a bad idea, he thought to himself. Why had he let her talk him into this? Oh, right. Because he was sick of having to survive on animal blood. Not that you could call it surviving really, but still...it was the whole reason that he was here. So he could learn to control himself on human blood. He let out an unnecessary sigh as he ran his fingers through his hair. This is a bad idea, he thought again. He should've just stayed at home. There was no way that he could do this.
Stefan mentally shook the attitude off. He couldn't think like that. There was a lot going on in Mystic Falls, the main one being Katherine's return. Katherine. Oh, how he hated her! She had ruined his life. If it hadn't been for her, he and Damon would still be close. Okay, he was getting off-track here. He needed to stay focused. Focus? How could he focus? He was starving! Sure he had fed from a couple of the blood bags that he had packed, but those were animal, which never really satiated him. So now he was in the streets, walking past people, trying not to lunge at them and drain them dry. I just wanna drink and rip out their throats until they're dead. Great. I'm off to a terrific start, he thought sarcastically.

Anna watched Stefan carefully as they walked through the busy streets of one of her favorite cities. They were finally in New York and she had to admit, it was easier than expected. Anna could see how the people were affecting Stefan. She knew it would be like this. Relax. She coaxed. We've been here 20 whole minutes and you still haven't ripped anyones head off. She loved the way that no one in the city cared, allowing them to speak freely. You're doing fine. She put her hand on his shoulder and guided him across the street to Central Park. She needed to get him to atleast a kind of secluded area. She preferred to feed out in the open only in clubs, where it was easier to blend in. That's where it would get tricky. But for now, while the sun was still out, her plan was to pick a nice couple enjoying a picnic in the park and have a little picnic themselves. Come on, I know the perfect place. We'll eat, soon enough. She said, leading him through the trees. Her goal was somewhere around Umpire Rock, a place that always had at least a handful of people in it and away from any lingering stares. They broke through the clearing and, of course, there was a young couple sitting in the grass, happily eating strawberries with not a care in the world. Oh, that was about to change. Anna took Stefans hand and whispered Watch and learn. as she sauntered over to the love birds. Anna knelt down next to them and recieved matching confused stares. You will not scream. You will not be afraid and you will do exactly as I say. Got it? She asked both of them. They nodded slowly, silently. You, stay. She motioned to the man as she tugged on the girls wrist, bringing her to sit between herself and Stefan. Now she addressed Stefan directly. You know how to start, its the stopping you have a problem with. We can feed, keep them around for the night, and feed on them again in the morning. But you have to have control. And if not, I'll throw them off the cliff and it will be a tragic accident. She thought to herself. It was worth a shot...and at least this way she could really see what she was dealing with. Pass this test, and we'll go to the club tonight and you can feed on whoever you want.NOTES || OUTFIT || www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=82981151

Stefan was so busy trying to get himself under control that he had almost forgotten that Anna was with him until he felt her hand on his shoulder as she told him to relax and that he was doing fine as they had been in the city for twenty minutes without him ripping someone's head off. No, but I'm wanting to, he thought to himself. "I'm starting to think that this was a bad idea," he muttered. He should've just stayed home and bulked up on the animal blood. Hey, he could get a decent amount of strength if he got enough animal blood, though his strength and powers certainly wouldn't be up to par with what they could be. And that was what had made him agree to coming here with Anna: the strength that he didn't have on animal blood. If he wasn't as strong as another vampire, how could he even hope to protect Elena?
At her statement that she knew a place and to follow her, the younger vampire did as he was told and was eventually led to a park clearing where a young couple was eating. He then glanced at Anna as she told him to "Watch and learn" and then waited as she walked over to them and said something softly, obviously using her compulsion to turn them into willing victims.
Stefan waited as Anna brought the girl to him saying that he knew how to start feeding but had trouble stopping. That's an understatement, he thought to himself and then focused on the girl as she went on to say that they could feed on a person, keep them around, and then feed on someone some more. He had to admit, the thought of being able to drink human blood without losing control of himself was enticing, but could he really do it? Oh, that blood smells so good...but what if I lose it? What if I black out again? he wondered. He didn't want to take that chance. But the blood...ohhhh, it smelled so good.
Anna broke into his thoughts, saying that if he passed this test---meaning if he fed on the girl without killing her---they could go to a club later that night and do the same thing there. Stefan's eyes darkened hungrily. Why should he deny himself any longer? Here he had a willing meal, so why should he throw it away? As the bloodlust rose, Stefan let his true features out and sank his fangs into her neck, drinking greedily, let the blood course down on his throat. Yes! This was what it was all about! The kill---the feeding! Granted, he preferred to hunt his meals as he liked the smell of their fear, but this would do just fine. With a growl, he sank his fangs into the girl's neck even further, tightening his grip on her and pulling her close. He had been denying himself for so long and now that he had what he was truly craving, he was never turning back from it...

Anna grinned as he sunk his teeth into their new "friend." She glanced over at the poor guy and laughed at the concerned look on his face. Her eyes turned back to Stefan only when he pulled the slim blonde closer. She was behind him in a second, her arms on his shoulders. Stefan, stop. She rolled her eyes, yanking him away. She knew she was risking bringing the womans throat along with her but she didn't really care. She spun him around to face her and slapped him. Hard. Snap the hell out of it. She ordered. Listen to me. You have to think about something other than the blood when you're feeding. Think about all the reasons why you can't kill the person. Anna turned to the man, the woman in no shape to answer any questions. Are you married? He slowly shook his head. Do you have children? The man slowly shook his head again: "A 2-year old girl." Anna turned back to Stefan. See? You don't want to kill someone who has a child, a family. And what would Elena say? She threw that last bit in as a last ditch effort to bring him to his senses. If that didn't work, she wasn't sure what will. Good. Her blood was good! So much better than that damned animal blood! Why had he denied himself for so long? It hadn't been natural. This was natural Drinking humans---draining them dry---being a king. He faintly heard Anna telling him to stop, but ignored her even as he felt her hands on his shoulders. Stop? Why should he stop? This is what everyone wanted---for him to feed like a true vampire. He then let out a growl of displeasure as he was yanked back, forcing him to release his hold on his victim. "Back off! This is my kill!" he growled, snapping his fangs at her. What was she thinking? Why would she stop him? There was more blood to be drained! That's all he wanted---the blood! And she was stopping him from getting it!
Before he knew what was happening, Anna had slapped him---hard---telling him to snap out of it. "What the hell? Have you lost it?" he asked, his eyes flashing, making his monstrous appearance seem even more so. Then, he scoffed as she told him that he had to think about something other than the blood when feeding. "Why would I do that? The blood is the only thing that matters," he said and then attempted to move past her to get to his victim again.
He then watched as she turned to the male asking if he was married and had any kids, and the man said that was and that he had a two-year old girl. Hmmm...dessert, he thought to himself. But apparently, that wasn't what his companion had in mind, for she turned to him saying that he wouldn't want to kill someone who had a family and then asking him what Elena would say. "Family? That's your big appeal to me? Family?" he asked with a scoff. "Family means nothing to me, Anna. All a family is is abandonment and betrayal," he told her, pain creeping into his voice despite his harsh words. He would never forget how Damon had left him. Oh sure, he had said it was to fight for the South at Father's insistence, but he didn't have to leave him behind. He could've taken him with him. Pain. He was feeling pain again. Push it down, he told himself and was relieved when the hurt that he had started to feel subsided. "And as for Elena, she's just another blood bag. Hell, I thought you were gonna use her to bring your mother back before you sunk your teeth into her brother," he sneered. Then, once more, he tried to move past the other vampire for the girl he had been feeding from. He could still smell the blood coursing through her veins and he wanted it!
OOC Yeah, the bloodlust is doing a lot of talking right now.

Anna yanked him towards her as he snapped at her. I swear I will snap your neck, Salvatore. She threw him down on the ground, growing annoyed. He hadn't been this obnoxious when her humanity had been off, too. She turned to the couple, assessing the scene quickly. Well, I guess it was time to go to plan B. She bit into her wrist and tasted her own blood almost instantly. She fed it to the close to lifeless girl as the man still watched on, more confused than ever. The girl healed quickly and she stood them next to eachother. Go. Don't remember any of this. Don't come back here. She slowly turned to her furious companion. Her eyes flashed red. She was definitely not in the mood to bring Jeremy into this. Are you freaking kidding me, right now? I'll drain your ass myself in your own cellar, don't push me! She yelled. This was ridiculous. Don't give me that I don't care about family shit, Stefan. You forget how long I've known you. And don't even think I won't remind you about that Elena remark when she gets annoying, cause I will. I won't think twice about drinking every drop of her blood. In an instant she was in his face. Blood's worth a life to you? Fine. She bit into her now healed wrist once again and offered it to him. But we'll do this my way. She knew she sounded crazy, but honestly, she expected more of him, more self-control. I guess this is why everyone else took the easy way out. He was a handful. She could handle him on her own, and she really couldn't care less if he ended up ripping the throat out of Jane Doe, but she wasn't going to deal with him coming to, having everyone find out back home. Yeah, definitely not worth it. NOTES || OUTFIT || www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=82981151[/tt]

Before he knew what was happening, he had been slammed on the ground as she threatened to snap his neck, resulting in a growl. Why was she doing this? She was the one who had brought him here! She was the one who had told him to do this! And now she was changing her mind? "You're the one who told me to drink, Anna. This is on you," he sneered, as she fed the girl her blood and then compelled her to forget what had happened. Oh, sure. Take the easy way out, he derisively thought as he sat up. He had thought that she would be more fun this than this.
When Anna threatened to drain him herself, Stefan fell silent, sensing that it would be best to shut up. He could feel the euphoria from the bloodlust starting to subside and a part of him was relieved, while the other part of him was trying to decide if she should try to get more blood. However the first part of him won out and he stayed where he was, though his eyes flashed as she told him not to act like family didn't mean anything to him as she had known him for a long time. "You know nothing about me! All you know is what my father had us act like! You don't know how Damon left me!" he shouted before he could stop himself. Then, he froze. Had he actually said that? Why? Why had he been so stupid? Then he gave himself a mental shake as she mentioned draining Elena. "If you touch her..." he growled, letting the sentence trail off. He wasn't sure what he'd do, but he'd come up with something.
Without warning, Anna was right beside him, saying that it was fine if blood was worth a life to him, but that they'd do it her way. What? What does she mean by that? he wondered. He got his answer when she bit into her wrist and offered it to him. "You're going to share your blood with me? I thought that was supposed to be really intimate," he commented. They had never been romantically involved---at least not to his knowledge---so, why would she offer to do this? Oh, right. Because he had just turned into a psychotic lunatic on her. Well, this would be better than going crazy on human blood. With that, he let his true feature show once more as he leaned towards her wrist and went to drink from it. Hopefully this wouldn't have the same effect as human blood...

Anna's heart broke for him as he spoke out about his brother. She knew there was bad blood there, more than because of Katherine or Elena, but she hadn't really known what. Emily Bennet had told her how the brothers reacted when they were in transition, it hadn't ended well. Damon had been angry with Stefan for causing him to lose Katherine and she got the idea when she ran into Stefan that him and Damon had parted ways. She had a feeling this was the first time Stefan ever voiced how he felt on the matter. She rolled her eyes as he threatened her about Elena. It was a half-hearted threat at best and they both knew she wouldn't touch the stupid girl even if she did annoy the hell out of her. It frustrated Anna that she was watching history repeat itself with these two after they finally got it together and were, whethere they wanted to admit it or not, a family again. Stefan questioned the blood-sharing suggestion, and Anna responded with a Yeah, well... before he gave in, taking her arm in his hands. Yeah, he definitely didn't remember the 20's. There was a reason blood=sharing was reffered to as intimacy. The feeling was euphoric, better than actually drinking blood to most. Anna breath caught in her throat and she put her other arm around his neck. She tried to steady her breathing as she became light headed. Even if he drained her, she would heal, but she wasn't planning on letting him do that either. She tried to steady her breathing and watched him carefully. Stefan, stop. She said gently. There was no need for her voice to be anything louder than a whisper, their faces just inches from eachother. She didn't need him to stop, just yet. She wanted to see if he could stop, or if this was having the same effect as the humans. Maybe if he got his fill and wasn't as bloodthirsty, he could control himself with humans. Only time would tell. They were going to need to come up with another excuse to stay. NOTES || OUTFIT || www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=82981151[/tt]

After his comment about blood-sharing, Anna just let out a "Yeah well", but hadn't really elaborated on what that meant, but he couldn't deny that he was curious. Did she know something he didn't? If so, why wouldn't she tell him? Then again, she had said that she didn't know much about his actions in the twenties, though they had obviously ran into each other. But that didn't matter. What mattered was that she was letting him drink from her and---wow! Her blood was amazing! It was better than human blood! And yet...he felt like he was in control. Okay, I know I can drink something besides animal blood without going psycho, he thought to himself. Which was good...but it wasn't like he could make a habit of feeding off of other vampires. For one thing, he didn't know that many, and for another, the ones that he did know wouldn't let him anywhere near their veins.
Suddenly, Anna's voice broke into his thoughts. Stop. She wanted him to stop. Reluctantly, he pulled away. He felt weird---buzzed, but not consumed by the bloodlust, which was a big step up for him. He could live with buzzed. He just didn't want to lose control again like he had in nineteen twelve. Then, he looked at her in concern. She looks bad, he thought to himself. She looked---light-headed...for a lack of a better word. Could a vampire even get light-headed? Well, he had just fed from her, so he supposed it made sense. "You okay? I didn't take too much, did I?" he checked, as his features took on a more normal appearance. If he had depleted her strength, he'd never forgive himself. After all, she was trying to help him and nearly draining her dry wouldn't be the best way to pay her back.

She let out a breath she hadn't been aware she was holding when he asked if she was ok. How do you feel? She asked as his eyes returned to normal. This was a turning point. A major one. If he felt stronger, better, it was good. She would be willing to do this as long as it took. He needed to get strong enough to fight the bloodlust. Then they could try human blood again. It was kind of cute that he was so concerned about her. Her wrist was already healed up and she felt a million times better than she did 5 minutes ago because not only did she make a major breakthrough with mission impoossible, but blood-sharing always made her feel like this. That was the funny thing about blood-sharing. It was more addicting than feeding, made you feel better than you did when your humanity was off (both at the same time sent her through the roof), and it was so much better than human blood, It worked faster, too, but everyone was so quick to turn it down. She was a bit surprised that in his current state of mind he had accepted this route, but she was glad, none the less. She held his face in her hands. Stefan, you did it! She grinned. You fed from something other than an animal or a bloodbag and you stopped without question. She laughed. It would be slower going than her original plan, but it worked and they could go back to Mystic Falls to continue. They'd just have to be careful. No one would like the idea of them blood-sharing. No one. NOTES || OUTFIT || www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=82981151[/tt]

Apparently she had been worried as she let out a breath that she had apparently been holding. Which was weird, since you know, they were both vampires. They didn't have any breath to hold. However, she didn't answer his question, but instead asked him how he felt. "A little buzzed...but I'm okay," he answered. And it was certainly a better feeling than what he had felt a few moments ago: the thirst for blood, the lack of caring...he didn't like feeling that way. That was when he became a monster. That's what had happened in nineteen-twelve and led to him blacking out. But that hadn't happened when he drank Anna's blood. Oh, sure, like he said, it had given him a buzz, but at least he wasn't wanting to kill people, which was good.
As if thinking the same thing, Anna placed her hands on Stefan's facing, saying that he had eaten something besides animal or blood bag and had stopped with no questions. "So now we know I can drink animal or vampire blood with no problem," he commented. That's terrific. But I still go psycho on human blood, he silently added. "I guess that's a start," he said somewhat hopefully. But what was he supposed to do now? He couldn't just feed off of Anna every day. He had a girlfriend after all. Elena would never understand something like this...

Anna sighed, seeing his frustration. Hey, it's a good start. She smiled. If we can get you strong enough off of vampire blood, it'll probably be easier to fight the bloodlust. And if not, I guess we're stuck together. She thought to herself as she turned, gesturing that he follow, leading them to walk down the path. They couldn't stay in one place for very long, especially here. It was asking for it. You can do this, and the best part is, you can do it at home. No one has to know. She fell silent, thinking about everything he had been through. This wasn't his fault. He didn't deserve this. None of it was his choice. Katherine was such an evil bitch for compelling him to injest vampire blood, especially when she never intended on sticking around. It was cruel. Anna wasn't much better, but she had been crushed, heartbroken. It was different. When she found him again in the 20's, it wasn't on purpose...but it was something she needed. She had been more or less on her own before that, jumping from home to home, running into a few vamps along the way but never staying for long. Then she found Stefan. And Rebekah the next morning. Ugh. She really hated that Vampire, almost as much as she hated Katherine. There was a clearing up ahead. It made Anna smile. This was her favorite part of Central Park. Umpire Rock. She walked over and sat on the ledge, waiting for Stefan to join her. She glanced at him and bit her lip. You want some more? She held out her arm again. NOTES || OUTFIT || here. Stefan nodded as Anna assured him that this was a good thing and that if they could get him strong enough with the vampire blood, they could try human blood again. "Are you crazy? After what I just nearly did? I nearly ripped that girl's head off," he reminded her. We just tried to get me on human blood and I nearly became psychotic again. What makes her think risking it a second time is a good idea? he wondered. Maybe she didn't realize just how serious his problem was. Then again, what about Elena? He couldn't just leave her unprotected. If he wanted to be strong enough to handle a new threat, he'd have to risk it. Yeah, definitely not something he was looking forward to...
Almost as if she was sensing his thoughts, the older vampire assured him that he could it and the best part was that they'd be able to do it while still in Mystic Falls and that no one had to know. "Yeah, I guess," he murmured. He wasn't sure how he felt about continually drinking Anna's blood as he didn't want her getting too weak, but at the moment, it was the only solution they had.
He then followed her to a clearing and sat down beside her. "Nice view," he commented. And it really was. You could see from miles...especially with their added senses. A few moments later, she held out her wrist and asked him if he wanted more. "Are you sure you're feeling up to it? I mean, I just took a whole lot from you," he said in concern. He didn't want to risk draining her dry just to help himself get under control. After all, that wouldn't be beneficial to what she was trying to do.
OOC I had to google Umpire Rock as I've never been to that part of New York. Only went once during a tour and that wasn't one of the places we stopped.

Anna smiled as he expressed his concerns. He was quite a different person with his humanity on. She nodded, offering him her wrist again. She didn't mind. It felt good. And, although he was clearly unaware, this wasn't the first time.
[flashback] Her mind wandered back to that night in New Orleans. It was late when she wondered upon him, covered in blood, eyes dark, ripping into a scantily clad teenage girl that couldn't have been much older than Anna was when she turned. Hello, Salvatore. She smirked as she walked down the alleyway. He looked up and almost snarled. Then he recognized her. Her eyes went just as dark as his and blood rushed to the surface of her cheeks. He nodded, clearly past the point of caring. After that girl was drained and torn apart beyond recognition, they grabbed another, and another, and another. By the time they were done, they were both sky high on bloodlust and loving every second. Before either of them knew it, they were tearing at eachothers clothes, kissing and biting at eachothers necks in Stefans small apartment. Anna woke up the next morning to Rebekah Mickaelson standing over her. Anna shrugged, replaced her dress and sauntered out of the house as if she owned the place. Klaus had been standing outside, smirking. Anna was outside city limits within seconds. She never knew why he was hanging out with the likes of the Mikaelson family. She had only heard stories from her mother and Katherine, but none of them were good. Niklaus was a force to be reckoned with, and she gathered Rebekah wasn't far off. It's fine, really. I promise She assured him. She probably hadn't thought this through properly...and Damon was sure to throttle her when they returned to Mystic Falls, but it was all for a good cause, right? They needed Stefan strong. They all had enemies. And they all would be coming to one place to find them. NOTES || Yeah, it's kind of hidden. It took me a while to find it on the map. OUTFIT || here. For several moments, Stefan sat by Anna, staring at the view and then he turned to his friend who appeared to be lost in thought. What's she thinking about? he wondered. Was she regretting bringing him here? Not that he could really blame her as her reason for doing this had utterly failed. She had intended for him to drink human blood and he had shown her exactly why he couldn't. Just the few sips that he had taken from the girl had completely changed him. She had practically had had to stake him to get him to stop. What was he supposed to do if he couldn't even feed properly? It wasn't like he could rely on feeding from Anna. It wasn't fair to her. I've got to figure something out, he thought to himself. He had to figure out a way to feed on human blood without going berserk. But how? Hadn't he just proven that it couldn't be done and that was why she had had to resort to him feeding on her?
He then mentally shook himself out of his reverie as she assured him that she was fine. How had he let himself get so distracted? Oh, right. He had been trying to figure out what to do about his little problem. Well, she had a solution right here. Well, a little more probably couldn't hurt, he reasoned. Heck, it wasn't like he was swimming in options. Deciding quickly, he let his fangs descend and he went to grab her arm, intending to drink from the same spot that had just healed.

The second she felt his fangs on the sensitive skin of her wrist, she closed her eyes. She leaned into him, her other hand resting on his shoulder. She could feel every part of Stefan. She could feel his fangs breaking her skin, his lips making contact.
Every nerve in her body seemed to be at attention. Did he have any idea of what he was doing? He obviously didn't remember their moment in the past...so had he shared with anyone else? Had he felt what she was feeling now? Surely not, or he wouldn't be continuing with this, right? Or maybe he was that desperate...either way, she wasn't about to put a stop to this euphoric feeling.
In her opinion, it felt a million times better when someone bit into her neck, at her main artery. It would be more beneficial to Stefan as well, but she felt like she might already be crossing a dangerous line, so she wasn't going to suggest it. Her free hand gripped his shoulder and she immedietely released it, moving it to the ground behind them.
You're fine. Drink. She assured him. Her head fell back and she stared up at the sky. Yep. Damon is definitely going to rip my head off...if Elena doesn't beat him to it.NOTES || OUTFIT || here. [/tt]

Stefan was hesitant at first. He had after all just fed from her recently, but once he started, he didn't want to stop. But he knew he had to go slow. He didn't want to risk taking too much. After all, they had just realized that he could drink vampire blood without going psycho and he really didn't want to jinx it. Okay, careful. Don't take too much, he reminded himself. Almost as she knew what he was thinking, she told him that he was fine and to drink, which he continued to do.
As he continued to drink, he could feel a wave of euphoria coursing through him. This blood was good. He wanted more! Then, he froze and pulled away. No! He couldn't get into that mindset! He had to stop! Push it down. Don't let it control you, he thought to himself. He then inhaled and exhaled slowly, forcing the bloodlust down. He was feeling buzzed again and a part of him wanted more, but his responsible side was telling him that he had had enough. "Sorry. I think I better slow down," he stated. He didn't want to get ahead of himself. He'd never forgive himself if he ever hurt her.

Anna almost felt disappointed when he pulled away. She had to catch herself before she begged him to continue.
He was right, sort of. She needed to feed. But she wasn't sure she could leave him alone long enough to. She could bring him with her...but that would probably end too much like it did in the 20's and she would never forgive herself.
Feeling stronger? She asked, curious to know if this plan was working at all. She hoped it had. Her ultimate goal was to get him to the point that he didn't need or crave blood the way he did right now. If he had free access to blood whenever he wanted, and if they chanced feeding when he really wasn't craving it, maybe he could pull back. But that time was a long way off. Anna didn't mind blood-sharing with him. She hadn't done this with many, but enough...maybe a handful of vampires. Her main concern was what everyone at home would think. Elena might not mind at first, but give her enough time to find out what it meant to them and she sure would. She was only helping, honest. There was really nothing there beyond physical attraction for Stefan, that and she truly cared about both Salvatore brothers. NOTES || OUTFIT || here. [/tt]

From the look on her face, Stefan could see that Anna was slightly disapointed when he pulled away, but it had been necessary. He didn't want to take too much. But man, the buzz that he was getting could become addicting! He'd have to be careful not to feed from her too often. After all, he didn't want things to spiral. Not that it appeared that it could. For one thing, he wasn't becoming consumed with the bloodlust like he had when he was on human blood. He could still think straight, and that was something he was extremely grateful.
When she asked him if he was feeling stronger, he nodded. "Yeah. Yeah, I am," he confirmed. It's an amazing feeling. It's almost better than human blood, he thought to himself. Almost. The key word was "almost". He figured that a part of him would always crave human blood, but at least he was feeling fairly satiated and could probably walk along the streets without wanting to rip somebody's head off, which you know, was a big step up from earlier this evening. So yeah, he was counting that as a win. So this was good. They had a plan. Now all they had to do was make sure that Elena didn't find out...

Anna smiled. She stood up on the edge of the cliff and offered her hand. You think you can walk around Manhattan without ripping anyones throat out? She said half-jokingly. It was a serious subject, yes, but they were past the point where they would dance around the subject. She was starving. They could stay in New York for the night if they wanted, get a room (or two) at the Plaza and go home in the morning or they could just return now. Either way, Anna needed to feed soon. A little voice in the back of her head told her to just ask to blood-share with Stefan, but she shushed it. She was already pushing her luck going this far. Crossing that line would seal her fate. Anna wanted to leave it up to him whether or not they stayed. She loved that she found a way to help him, but this was his life. She wanted to leave the big decisions up to him. Stefan watched as Anna stood up and then offered him a hand as she asked him if he thought if he could walk around Manhattan without wanting to rip out anybody's throat. "Yeah, I think I can," he replied, reaching up to take her hand and standing up. He wasn't starving anymore and that had been his main problem when they had arrived: he was wanting to drain everybody on the sidewalk dry and then have his run of the place. But he knew that if he went back to that, it would cause problems for everybody and he wasn't about to let that happen. Besides, he knew that Anna probably had to feed after being drained and though he wasn't thrilled about the thought of her feeding on the populous when he had to rely on her blood, he understood it. She needed to replenish her energies and human blood was her best bet at doing it.
He stared at the girl for a moment. Is she really feeling all right? he wondered. He couldn't even begin to imagine what she was feeling like now that he had just drank from her twice in such a short amount of time. He hoped that he hadn't seriously drained her, though he had a feeling that he had. "You're okay, right? I mean, I didn't take too much, did I?" he asked in concern. He had never done this before---as far as he knew---though he had heard about it, and he wasn't quite sure what the effects from it would be, though he could imagine that she probably felt a bit drained. And he hated the thought that he had made her vulnerable. If they did this in the future, he would have to remember to do it sparingly. After all, he didn't want to leave her defenseless...

As they walked back towards civilization, Stefan once again questioned her well-being. Anna couldn't help but giggle. I'm fine, I promise. She grabbed his arm and squeezed it lightly. There's no way he remembers sharing with anyone with the way he was acting. Anna couldn't help but wonder if she was the only one. You don't know what this feels like for me, do you? She asked, already knowing the answer. She argued with herself, trying to decide what all to tell him. Coming clean about the 20's would put a screeching halt to their city adventure and she was too afraid to risk it. She had already lost so much. Stefan, bloodsharing is like a drug. It's better than a high and in all honesty, it feels amazing. She explained carefully. Hoping she wasn't going to cause him to freak out over his new found "cure." It's so euphoric, and most of the time it happens in heat of the moment situations. That's why you hear about how intimate it is. Please, dear god, don't turn back now. She begged silently. This was what looked like the only way for Stefan to get stronger. She needed him to continue this. It wasn't even about her or them..her getting the side effects was just an added bonus. Anna decided then that if they stayed in New York, she would explain to him what happened in the 20's. There was no way out of it and he would hate her even more if it came out later, as she feared it would. Once again, it was his life. She would need to truly leave it all up to him. If it went badly, she would tell Damon. She didn't have a choice. If he decided he couldn't blood share with her anymore, then so be it. They would find someone else. They would have to. Damon could just get over it. NOTES || OUTFIT || here. [/tt]

For some reason, Anna seemed to think his concern was funny because she giggled, squeezing his arm lightly as she assured him that she was fine. "Okay, if you're sure," he nodded. He wasn't sure if he was convinced that she was really all right, but if she told him she was, he was going to have to take her at her word. It wasn't like he was in a position to do anything about it if she wasn't anyways.
When she commented that he didn't realize what the blood-sharing was like for her, he shook his head. She keeps talking like we've done this before. Have we? he wondered. Was that something from the twenties that he had blocked out? Why? Had he hurt her or something? He wouldn't be surprised if he had. After all, one didn't black out for an entire decade because you were a saint. However, whatever he done, it would appear that Anna had either forgiven him or had forgotten about it...which he was grateful for, even if he didn't know what it was that he had done. "No. Like I said, I blocked that decade out. All I know for sure is that there was a lot of blood and a lot of partying," he confessed a bit shamefully. He didn't like the fact that he had gotten so bad that it had wiped an entire decade from his mind. But there it wasn't like there was anything he could do about it...was there?
His eyes flickered as she explained that bloodsharing was like a drug though it was better than a high and felt amazing, adding that it was euphoric often happening in the heat of a moment, which was why it often sounded intimate. "So---and please don't take this the wrong way---have you shared blood with a lot of vampires?" he asked curiously. Hopefully, she wouldn't deck him for the question, cause he honestly wasn't trying to pry, he really wanted to know.
When Anna fell silent, Stefan found himself wondering if he had said something wrong. Maybe he shouldn't have asked her about bloodsharing as it was certainly none of his business. But he hadn't been able to keep himself from asking the question. He had heard about it of course, but he was pretty sure that he had never done it with anyone, not even Lexi. Then again, if it happened in the twenties, odds were that he had blocked it from his memory, and from the way Anna was talking, he was starting to wonder if she knew anything about his behavior back then. If so, did he really want to know? Maybe in his case ignorance was bliss...

Anna took a beat before answering Stefans question. She couldn't tell him now. She just couldn't. A part of her knew it would be worse when she finally did, but she couldn't do it here in the middle of a street in New York City.
A few. She said simply. Only one was when my humanity was on, though. She admitted. Rian Mueller, she remembered. It was before her and her mother had met the Salvatores. They were running with Katherine at the time. He had been very charming and even more attractive. Their relationship had never cooled down. She woke up one day and he was simply gone. I never really gave it a second thought, to be honest. I'm sure some take it very seriously, but I don't. We're stuck here for eternity, might as well have fun. She added, shrugging. Technically, she hadn't lied to Stefan at this point. She was just...withholding. There were 4 or 5 people on her "list" at this point, most were flings when she was running around the world with her humanity off, much like her tryst with Stefan. What would you like to do now? We could stay, get a room somewhere and hang out in the city or we could always go back home. It's up to you. No one back there is too concerned about me but what did you use as an excuse to leave? NOTES || OUTFIT || here. [/tt]

Stefan listened as Anna admitted that she had bloodshared with a few people and only once when she had her humanity on. Hmmm...I can't imagine trusting anyone else to do that with, he thought to himself. In eighteen sixty-four, he had been hell-bent on getting revenge on the Founding Families as well as killing as many people as he could, so bloodsharing hadn't been high on his priority list. He had to admit though, he was surprised that Anna had done it. Then again, it wasn't like it was any of his business what she did.
He eyes clouded somewhat when she went on to say that she hadn't really given it much thought, adding that while some people viewed bloodsharing as something special, she didn't, and that since they were going to be around for eternity, they might as well have some fun. "Yeah, I guess," he agreed. If I was going to offer my blood to someone, I'd take it more serious than that, he thought to himself. But then again, it wasn't like he and Anna were anything serious and she had offered him her blood, so he supposed that he could see her point. Heck, he was just glad to that he could drink something other than animal blood without going loony tunes.
When she asked him what he wanted to do, saying that they could stay in New York for a while or go back to Mystic Falls, saying it was up to him and then asked him what excuse he had given for coming there. "I told Elena that I got a call from an old friend here that needed help and that I wasn't sure how long it'd take and I told my teachers that I had a family emergency," he responded. He hadn't even bothered telling Damon what he planned to do as he figured he wouldn't care anyway, and he hadn't told Elena the truth because he wasn't sure how she'd take it. How was he going to explain that he wanted to be able to feed on human blood? "Well, we might as stay here for a couple of days at least. I mean, I've never been here before so why waste a trip?" he asked with a shrug.
